Tonight we tried Marrickville Seafood for the first time...and the last time! I should have guessed by the lack of patronage that I was biting off more than I could chew. I requested 3x fish fillets, some chips and 6x calamari. - $31. The woman dropped one of the fish fillets on the floor in front of me and I made a joke about it going back to the ocean as she passed it to another woman. a few seconds later the the second woman returned and handed the first woman a fish fillet. I said, "Is that the one that fell no the floor?" She said, "We cleaned it" I said, "No. I'm not having that. This isn't a good start is it?" The woman then put the dirty fillet back in the pile for circulation. I almost walked out but decided to check the finished product. After forking out too much cash my family were VERY disappointed with the food. We didn't eat it. Nor did our cats! YUCK YUCK YUCK!

Approximate cost: $30

Fresh seafood in the inner west, its great to have a place that specialises in fresh seafood of all types close to home. The staff are friendly and the store has been around for almost as long as ive been in Marrickville. They have a diverse range of fresh fish and the calamari rings are a favourite of my son. They also sell cooked seafood if you dont feel like preparing it yourself. Prices are fairly decent and much better than buying at your closest chain supermarket.
