Really enjoyed having a meal here with friends. For $29.90 you could have unlimited meat and side dishes. Really liked how there was cheese surrounding the grill.

I'm not sure I would recommend Marroo anymore, I took a group of 8 here for the Banquet menu and the value for 40 per head is not that great. They only brought one serving of Scotch Fillet and Pork Belly, when we said this was not enough they told us we needed to order extra, to which we argued no, we are paying 40 per head, you bring enough of each type of meat on the banquet menu.

Unfortunately even after 40 dollars, and all the sides, and the fact that we had to keep asking them to top up our sides and bring more because they largely ignored us and stood around talking in the corner we left still hungry.

There is no desserts menu, I'm sorry but I expect to be able to order either Matcha, Black Sesame or Red Bean ice cream at a Korean BBQ place.

Also, the ventilation has deteriorated, by 8pm the place was full but also full of smoke, our vent actually started spewing smoke from another table onto us. I noticed that they had to keep the front door ajar to let out the excess smoke.

The Banquet menu is bulked out by chicken and pork and is very lean on scotch fillet, pork belly and Beef brisket or Bulgogi. It could do with some Ox Tongue. Also the "Seafood Hot Pot" that comes with it contains one piece of each type of seafood in a small one person bowl. Hardly enough for a group of 8. At other Korean BBQ places I have been to, a seafood hotpot is literally a hotpot, set up on a separate burner.

I was really disappointed and wont be returning.

Approximate cost: $360

Recently opened. This place is really good.
They offer korean dining and bbq. Servings are extremely generous. The food is fresh and a good standard. The pricing is not very acceptable considering what they serve and the staff service levels.
I was really happy, and satisfied. The atmosphere here is pleasant and convivial. Good for group catch ups or nights with the adult family. Similar to Oriental Spoon, only without that creepy feeling of always having people walking past watching you through the windows above as you eat.

Went here last night for a friend's birthday, we had booked ahead which I think was definitely a good idea considering we had 10 people.

As soon as we entered the door, you could smell the charcoal bbq (in a good way! It made us so hungry). We had brought our own cake which the staff immediately offered to put in the fridge for us. They were very friendly and very welcoming. And unlike many other Korean restaurants, this one was not understaffed which is definitely good if you like good service.

The restaurant was full and had a great atmosphere. One thing I really liked here was the air vents. Normally Korean restaurants have them set in one spot, meaning the charcoal or the stove has to go in that one particular spot. Marroo had it set up connected to bars along their roof which they can slide along the table. This meant the vents could be perfectly aligned to the stoves.

The service here was great, and the food didn't take too long to be served. We also ordered rice wine which was served after a few dishes arrived at our table. Not sure if this was because of how long it took to make the rice wine or because they always serve it with the food (we actually ordered the rice wine about 5 minutes before we ordered food). We tried four different flavours of rice wine (Peach, Watermelon, Grape and Pear) and all four tasted amazing. The watermelon was really refreshing and some people commented that the peach one tasted more creamy than the others. So it comes down to personal preference as to which flavour was best.

The food tasted amazing. I would definitely go back and would happily order the exact same thing. We had the spicy seafood rice cake (ddeokbokki), deep fried chicken with sweet chilli sauce and kimchi soup. And for the BBQ we had fresh pork belly, spicy pork belly and beed brisket. Everything tasted so good.

A lot of the time deep fried chicken goes really dry but this was cooked to perfection and the sauce was absolutely delicious as well. The rice cakes in the ddeokbokki were also cooked beautifully. They weren't overly chewy or overly soft to the point of being mushy; everyone on our table loved it. The kimchi soup was great too. Ingredients wise it was similar to ones I've had elsewhere, but the soup itself was really nice. Some places overload the kimchi soup with spices but this one wasn't.

The meat was as you'd expect, pretty nice, though sometimes you might need to cook it yourself so keep an eye on it so it doesn't burn. The spicy pork belly was really nice, similar to the kimchi soup, some places tend to make it so spicy you can't really taste anything else. Marroo has it so you can taste the spice but it doesn't overpower everything else.

We also ordered rice which was the purple coloured rice where they've added beans into it. The rice was cooked well too, not too dry, not too soggy and not too hard. Even the birthday girl, who normally hates beans and won't eat rice that has added beans, thought the rice was great.

I really enjoyed this meal. It was great food, great drinks and great people. I would definitely come again. The only thing I can say is it's a little bit pricey. Not overpriced though! Some of the serving sizes didn't quite reflect the price, so if you're not sure, definitely ask when you're ordering. I would say however, that the price most definitely reflects the quality of the food you are getting. There are absolutely no complaints I have about the food or the service. I would love to come here again and try some of their other items.
