The atmosphere and location of Mart 130 is really pleasant and relaxing in its slightly tucked away location off Canterbury Rd. I ordered the Corn fritters with grilled bacon, tomato relish and sour cream - one of the best I've had.
They grill the fritters, as opposed to pan frying them so they are not oily. Service is super friendly.

Love the location and the ambience .... It's super cozy and relaxing although the seats were a little cramp. The staff weren't very attentive either and the service not so great. Coffee and food were pretty good though..

Recently dropped into this cafe after walk around South Melbourne. Had a hot chocolate which was quite good. Unfortunately I had already had lunch so did not have anything to eat but some of the food that others were having looked quite delicious. Love the fact that it is on the platform of a light rail stop - creates quite an unique atmosphere.

Planning to return to eat next time!

Had breakfast here on the weekend and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The staff were friendly, although not necessarily the fastest. Plenty of room to take the dog along with us too. The menu contains the usual breakfast stuff as well as some more creative items. I had the corncakes - they were really delicious. The chai latte was a bit overly spicy though. The place is also surprisingly quiet given that it is on the lightrail/tram line.

I came here for lunch today .. i was hoping for a great food and great service (High expectancy about this place) .. However, it was a let down ...

Firstly, I was disappointed with the food .. i tried the corn fritters (they said its delicious) but the fact is not.. taste just average -So overpriced!

Secondly, the service was so slow.. the staff were so inattentive .. what a disappointment..

Highly singular location and dining experience - a pleasant novelty to eat at a converted historic yet operational tramstop. This place has serves up quality offerings as well - it does not just trade off its location. The food is standard brunch fair (not highly creative) but well executed. Coffee is acceptable, given that this is not a coffee house/institution.

Lovely coffee, fresh produce in a quaint location. Perfect on a sunny, blue sky, Winter's morning where the heaters are doing its job in the deck out the back. This is a real gem of a place and you can really see why there are lines streaming out the door and onto the tram stop right outside.
Breakfast is generously served and whilst they have kept their menu for sometime (why change a good thing?) the specials keep it fresh and interesting. This is one of my absolute favourite locations in suburbia made famous for their crispy bacon with fresh corn fitters served with chutney and sour cream! If you are waiting in line, they may come and take your order for coffee while you wait outside. Mart 130 may be backwards for 'tram (stop) 130' but like the good but quirky things of Melbourne bring your best friends, they will love it here! Recommended!

This place is great. There is always a massive buzz, awesome breakfasts and there are often people sitting in the tram platform outside drinking their yummy coffee waiting to get a table. Sometimes do have to wait but it is worth it!

Love, Love, Love this place.. The first time i saw it, I thought it was the tram station itself. It is very convenient to get there by Tram 96, the cafe just sits there at the tram stop. You will get what i mean when you visit it. The ambience and the atmosphere is so cozy and country like, it feels like a home rather than a cafe and the food is delicious.. Have a walk at the park after breakfast.. This will make the perfect Saturday or Sunday morning..

Approximate cost: $12

Standard breakfast fare. Lacking in new, interesting, different or defining breakfast options. That said, everything we ordered was executed perfectly.
Be careful about the time of day you go though. The cafe is small and outside tables are limited - as well as the fact that there is no suitable area to wait (tramstop).
