First time dining here.
Asked for a bonus and received a wine each and shared entree.
Lovely setting whilst still busy.
Indoor and outdoor dining.
Waiters very attentive and efficient.
Salmon tasty.
Gnocchi was OK but did have some potato chunks in some. Sauce yum.
Nice experience.
Fair prices

Have eaten there twice now both times were amazing. My husband has many food allergies and most places can't cater for it and treat us like it's all too hard.
The food was ok but the service was poor. Long wait for food on an average day. When we asked for the bill they said they would show us where to go but they left us standing there. Waiters spent a lot of time talking to their friends in another language. I would give it a miss

what a wonderful first experience dining here!
We walked out of the car park and started to look around for somewhere to eat.. saw this VERY busy restaurant... asked if they had a table for two.. and were told yes, inside... it was a warm Saturday evening and we REALLY wanted to sit outside.. we advised them that we were happy to wait for a bit to get one, however a moment later a table for two was available.
The service was a bit slow (the table beside us arrived much later than us - and food and beverage was served before us it was quite obviously they were friends of the management and was given very preferential treatment)
However, that was well and truly made up for when the AWESOME food arrived.. the Garlic Prawns and Salt & Pepper Calamari was fabulous!! The serving sizes were great, in fact we couldn't finish our meals!
When the sun went down the Christmas Lights in the Lane came on and it was lovely!
The down side was that there was music playing in the lane way from a stereo / amp across from our table.. it was MUCH too loud for the diners that were sitting close to it.. we couldn't talk to or hear each other.
The smokers also tended to congregate in the lane way - about 10 meters (if that) from the tables in the lane way.
we WILL be back for another meal! Thank you!!

staff are a bit pushy to try and get you in to having breakfast/lunch/dinner there but i do admit i got sucked in by their trio of dips appetizer! the bread is absolutely amazing, i'd definitely recommend it
also had a steak but was overcooked, but was easily and quickly changed to a new not overcooked steak
I always great great service here. They have extensive knowledge in food and wine. Definitely ask for their advice, always great. It is hardware lane. The lane has a great outdoor atmosphere but I don't think any food on hardware lane is to die for. It's a standard menu and they deliver. It won't wow you but it's good food, fantastic service and an awesome atmosphere

Those lane ways are gold in Melb.
Went her for a Sunday lunch. We ordered our food and drinks, and the first thing to arrive was the bill. Which we thought was quite odd.
So, when a waiter came past, we asked for some water to go with it. He came back with 1.5 glasses of water, as they'd run out, and took away the as-yet unpaid bill. We were also told the waiter would come back with more water.
We were then told there'd be a delay with our soft drinks, as they needed to buy ice. Yes, ice. So, five minutes later, they arrived.
Once the meals arrived, we were starving. They were good, not spectacularly so, but above satisfactory. (Note, I prefer the egg on my caesar salad to be warm and freshly cooked, and the one I had was neither). We then re-asked for more water.
When we went to pay, they didn't ask, "How was everything?". So, we didn't really get a chance to provide an opinion on our experience.
Approximate cost: $19
