A lovely night out, with quality authentic food and decent variety on the menu. The decor is stylish and comfortable, and the staff friendly and efficient. Can be pricy depending on meal choices but worth it.

Some of the best chinese I have ever experienced, it was perfect. We ordered the banquet, we definitely made the right decision. So many different dishes, all were amazing and well presented. Could not fault anything. Excellent food and service. Will be taking my wife here when in Hobart next. A definite must try.

I chose to dine here for my birthday and I'm so glad I did. Upon entering it was beautifully decorated and we were seated in a small lounge until our table ready. We had the bamboo banquet and it was filling and the dishes were delicious. The wagyu beef and black bean was amazing. The service I couldn't fault. While I was in the restroom, one of the dishes arrived with a cloche and the waiter waited until I returned to remove it. I would definitely recommend to my friends and family.

Me Wah would be the best chinese restaurant in Tassie, the food is absolutely delicious, we have been for dinner and yum cha for lunch and both times the staff were professional and very nice. During our yum cha experience with friends and family everything was explained the dishes arrived on time and there was little or no waiting time for anything. We had black fungus and bean curd rolls, dumplings with prawn and ginger also steamed bok choy and Chinese broccoli amongst other things . For Dinner we have had peking duck it was to die for . We will definitely be going back

I have only been here once, and the food was delicious! The only real problem is that the staff seem too "professional,' as in, they are all very formal acting, but no smile or personality! Over all, I would definitely return, and would recommend to friends.

Interesting review, I personally loved the professionalism of the staff, made me feel special and like they were only there to serve, lol, sort of like royalty!
I felt the food was very expensive for what you got!
Thanks for the review :)

We were a big table of 7 and there were no tables this large in the main dining room so we were put in our very own room with one round table. Must say, felt like royalty and the room was gorgeous and the table setting was very fancy.
The service was certainly A-Class.
Remember this resturant has been voted #1 in australia and in tasmania before so expect a big bill.
We had a few bottles of expensive wine (about $100 each), we shared a banquet and we each had dessert and the bill came to around $1,000. Yup.
Now I'm not a huge fan of this type of food, but I could still recognise the quality in every dish. Every serving was very fancy and small portioned. Very beautifully prepared. I did not actually LOVE anything I was served but that could just be because I don't generally like these foods.
We had duck in two ways, a sweet chilli chicken, wagyu wasabi beef (way too wasabi flavoured!) a chopped up pork and sweetcorn and chicken soup.
To be honest I wouldn't go back as the food really did not wow me, although the experience was realyl nice and you should dress up for this place.

Approximate cost: $45

We were a party of 8 and were seated in a large side room which was ideal for our Birthday celebrations. The bill can run away from you a bit when you start having appetisers and drinks but the food and drinks menus are wonderful! Superb restaurant layout, decor and service. Highly recommended!

We had the banquet here recently as had a work group with lots of people.
The food wasn't as good as we'd been led to expect (although have heard that if you order from the a la carte menu, it's excellent). Wasn't anything different from your usual Australian Chinese restaurant.
Service was excellent, felt like we were in a 5 star restaurant.
Prices were also similar to a 5 star restaurant! Banquet was a set price, but the drinks were very expensive, almost prohibitively so.
Would eat there again to try the a la carte menu, wouldn't have the banquet again.

Approximate cost: $50.00

Stunning food, superb restaurant. We love it, expensive but so worth it. Surrounding are beautiful too. Great for a special night out, Takeaway is also great too.
