Quality of dental work , 2019 - 2020, is the expected standard across dental work in Victoria - since dentists are generally fussy with their whole technical caper, it was standard. So far so good with fillings - work holding steady. Quality of explaining charges and customer experience : 2.5 / 5 - first year they seemed happy to upsell whilst i was in the chair - not a great time to make what felt like a sales pitch. Second year i was offered an outlandishly pricey way of dealing with teeth grinding. (also declined). Both years there was a small item not asked for but given and charged for. Second time i let them know -" thats not cool" - the senir dentist handled the objection - but as a public discussion - not cool. Dropping that charge - that was v. good.
Note well: whilst being a Member of the real Miners Coop still gets you a small but useful discount at this new private clinic, i feel the highly commercial set up of this newer clinic is not worth it. They purchased the 'Miners' Dental Clinic' name and probably the client list from the real Miners' Co-op (pharmacy services) - who had to let go of their operated dentistry services ( half the story involved a building fire that took two years to fix)... Anyway, the last straw for me to cease being a repeat customer is the incessant use of a TV screen in the admin-waiting area, showing a right-wing media channel with volume on - i can see the founders of the towns Coops turning in their graves - they laid the basis for the creation of the public Medicare health system all Australians enjoy today - and the one that this right wing media wants to shut down.
