Baked snapper disaster

Worst meal we have had ever. The Oven Baked Snapper was so dry and tough we were totally shocked they could serve two dishes so badly prepared. The prawns and ratatouille were nice but the snapper was small and their adverts showed two pieces but only one is served. Would not eat there again after such a poor meal. Previously had found the meals ok, not great or bad.

Big modern bowls club, very popular with tourists and locals and suits different age groups depending on venue chosen
Parking: big off street car park, a long way to the front door so be prepared for a hike.
Front desk high-tech sign-in, very easy once you know how, but the staff member was snappy and impatient with new patrons who took longer to catch on
We all attended a celebrity book launch here - conference venue is modern, well appointed and comfortable.
Food/bev: numerous varied dining choices - food is v good, cheaper with Members deals.
Cafe prices very reasonable - we had 'turkish toasties' at $8.80 - yum

Tip: have a wander around, admire the light airy modern decor

This is a really stylishly decorated club. But from the carpark you actually have to cross a railway line (a real one) by a special crossing, to get to the front door, so watch out.

The hallway/concourse is wide and decorated in camel/bone and brown shades with touches of metallic thrown in. It's also very large with a big sunken dining area, other function rooms, a cafe and of course the pokies area which is not at all obtrusive.

The staff were fast, efficient and very friendly. We were hoping to have a lovely dinner here to cap off our holiday in Echuca/Moama but alas, so were hundreds of other people. I was impressed with the high-tech sign in devices where you put your driver's licence or student card for over 18's and it reads it automatically, then prints you out a receipt giving you temporary membership.

Our mouths were positively watering at the sight of the dining area and kitchen but when we finally reached the head of the queue were told there would be more than an hour wait for a table. Definitely need to book ahead.

So we'll look forward to that for next time. The cafe area is nearby and well arranged. Lovely coffee and slices/cakes etc for a casual snack. The Ladies room was positively sumptuous with stylish square basins and interesting tap ware.

So, well worth a visit. Just don't go on an "occasion" night. Oh and I almost forgot to say - their sign is in need of repair but it certainly gave the children a laugh. It says "MOAM OWLING CLUB". lol

Love the new look, very stylish even attractive to the younger crowd. Doesn't have the drab feel of a pokies venue. Quality of food is good, better then expected at a pokies venue.

This club is one of my favorites, it is for ages 21 and over however you can take the kids for a meal in the bistro, They have a games room available for the kids and on weekend they have someone looking after the children. A beautiful set out club pokie machines and great service
