This cafe was previously known as Rimini's which, despite some shortcomings, was a reasonably popular spot in Blackwood.
Under new ownership, it has been spruced up - but at a cost. The prices left me gobsmacked - $20 for a very mediocre salt and pepper squid when boutique hotels in the CBD offer better for at least $4 cheaper! The same applies to other meals - this isn't a restaurant yet it charges like one.
A lukewarm latte cost $4 and provided about four gulps - I kid you not. I hope the owners read this and smarten up their act. Otherwise the diminishing clientele that seem to now frequent Montagna's will continue to decline.

The food here isn't too bad, but I think mine arrived cold once. Not bad in terms of flavour. The name of the place keeps on changing with new owners though, so I can never figure out what it's called

this restaurant used to be amazing and a great addition to the area but since management has changed the service went down hill dramatically along with the food. its a sad shame they changed hands as it was a great place and atmosphere.

Totally Agree! Wish it hadn't been through all the ownership changes...

Always busy but is a great place to meet and have coffee/cake or even a reasonable priced quick meal. Love to sit outside under cover. On a cold wintry day there soup/bread is great.

Staff were quite rude and unwilling to give much service. Had to wait a long time jsut for someone to give us our table and they were just chatting amoungst themselves. meal too a long long time and entree garlic bread came out at the same time as meal. Risotto wasnt verynice and whilst one meal would be boiling hot the other would be cold. Had to send the chicken back as it was stone cold. It was a busy night for them but we had booked and still you expect a little more than that.

Remini Cafe is known as a favourite of locals around the Blackwood area. With the option of alfresco dining, I chose to eat dinner on their undercover verandah, overlooking the picturesque Blackwood Uniting Church and World War II Soldier Memorial. The service was efficient, and staff friendly. I particularly enjoyed the ambience of the setting. The food was of good quality, what one would expect of a cafe specialising in Italian Cruisine. Some menu items can be expensive, yet this is a dining experience that is unlikely to be regretted!

This place is really hit and miss. Their pizzas are usually a safe bet but can be served cold if served with other meals. We have had fairly bad service here on a few occassions and I can't see the reason for an order at the counter style of service in such a small space. On our last visit I only received my mushrooms to accompany my breakfast once we had already long finished our other food. I agree with other reviewers that if there was another option I would use it - perhaps primo's?

I think you're spot on - if just a bit generous with your ratings

Service is not very fast and they definitely dont ask if they can help you, you have to ask them. We had a cold meal once (all 6 dishes were cold) and were told "we arent a restaurant". No offer of taking it back and re-heating or anything. Wish there was other cafe's/restaurants in the blackwood area because then we would go there instead. The manager at Rimini's is very rude.

Approximate cost: $18

Let's not beat around the bush - Rimini's is mediocre, to put it mildly. The fare is mediocre, the service is mediocre, the layout is mediocre (especially when you sit at tables as customers queue next to you and staff shuffle around you) and the owner smoking out the front is mediocre.
Local residents are being dudded by this poor excuse for a restaurant/cafe. But, as long as they patronise it, then don't complain...

Approximate cost: $15

I go there regularly with friends. The coffee is great and the atmosphere lively and friendly. Parking is easy. The food is generally pretty good and of a satisfactory portion but sometimes a bit 'tired' for some reason.

Approximate cost: $16.00
