The Sweet Shop has a real "old world" feel to it and the kids love it. There is a huge variety of old style lollies that are not found everywhere.
I love the caramel fudge bars they sell there and the range of chocolates, toffees, and just a huge variety of hard and soft lollies both.
A great place to take the family if you are in the Moonta area.

The Moonta Mines Sweet Shop as it is now known was first the Moonta Mines Post Office built in 1946. In 1979 it was set up as a sweet shop and named "Refreshments". In 1983 it was renamed the Old Sweet Shop and continued until 1998 when it was closed and the name was transferred to a shop in George street. The National Trust then restored the shop with a few improvements and additions and it was renamed The Moonta Mines Sweet Shop. In 2000 it was run by the District Council of the Copper Coast and run by volunteers. Since then it has been transferred back to the National Trust and it continues its success to this day. The shop contains and awe inspiring array of lollies, toffees, chocolates, jubes and other candies. You can not just stand there with your hands in your pockets as sooner or later the temptation is just too great not to indulge in the affliction of treating yourself to just a few mouth watering treats. I betcha don't just stop there.!!!!

I love coming here every time I go to Moonta. So many mouth watering sweets and treats. They have a great selection of old fashioned hard boiled lollies for you to try. The shop has a lot of charm being located in a tiny old post office.

The sweet shop is a delight for those with a sweet tooth, offering a huge variety old-fashioned sweets and treats. My personal favourite is the good old acid drop!
