We stayed here on the weekend while visiting this interesting town. It's an older style cream brick motel with two L shaped blocks on a large corner allotment. Parking in front of your room and the spaces are very small. Only one driveway, so if someone is checking in, you are stuck behind them.

At times the noise from other adjoining rooms came through the walls, but seemed to settle down at night. There is a pool without roof, a small corner of garden and everything is pretty basic but comfortable.

We had a queen bed, sofa and single bed in our room, a separate bathroom but the basin is in the main room and doubles as a kitchen sink. You have trouble getting the electric jug under the tap. There is tea/coffee and biscuits, milk is given on check-in, but the stuff in the fridge is to be paid for if you use it.

The split system aircon/heater had a little trouble coping with very cold, wet conditions and took a while to warm the room. Beds were comfortable and everything clean. There is a TV but we didn't use it and more than enough bench space with some chairs. There was a microwave in the room but only 2 coffee mugs and 2 wine glasses for a 3 person room and no other plates or cutlery at all.

Option of breakfast or snacks which have to be ordered at a cost. Location is not far out of town.

Approximate cost: $95 - 100

The room was basic, but had everything we needed. Right in the centre of it all, a great starting spot to visit all the wineries of the region. Our hosts were absolutely delightful, very friendly and helpful.

Approximate cost: $120
