'Rip off' pricing on Apoquel, almost double the price of 'on-line. Other vet practices charge a lot less.
They charge a high price on the cost of getting a prescription to buy elsewhere. Their prescriptions are just 'one-off' and they won't do a prescription with repeats on it.
Customer service is poor too. I understand that Vets are not cheap, and I don't generally quibble about costs. I have spent a lot of money at this vet and I expected better. I am voting with my feet.

Approached my scared and injured dog without care, then refused to treat him properly and recommended I do it myself. Won’t be returning to a vet who takes my money and doesn’t care about the animal. Would highly recommend others to avoid as well.

I would like everyone to know about the service received at Mt Hutton Vet and why I would not recommend them. It wasn't a decision I took lightly when considering whether to complain but I think this should be known given that I know there most certainly are vet clinics that do not do this. To my disgust, a $30 fee had to be paid to be present at the time of the euthanasia for my dog, my best friend of 14 years. $30 to have a friendly face in the room after being taken in a back room with strange people and having a catheter inserted in the leg. We were taken to a consult room to wait for him. He was bought back in to us in the room. Where we would have been spending our last minutes with him, that didn't happen as the vet come in immediately and he straight away done the procedure. Before I could blink my best friend was gone and as if that wasn't hard enough to see, that vet did not even look at us and he did not ask us if we were ready and he did not even inform us he was about to do the procedure. Mount Hutton Pet Hospital, I think you should be truly ashamed in relation to all of the above.

Staff at the counter had me on the back foot before I had even been into see the vet. Understand everyone is entitled to their own views I just did not feel comfortable which comes across to our animals

Worst experience I've ever had. Given different advise by different staff. Delayed in refunding over payment. Unable to send requested information to new vet to assist my dog in proper medication dosage and paid about 30 per cent more than other vet quotes I have since enquired about

I have used this vet for a number of years for my dogs.My dog I have at the moment started off doing puppy preschool here & she loved it.We found it to be a great advantage for when we need to take her to the vet because she associates the vet with a good time.We also take her for her annual checkup & heart worm injection & I've always found the staff to be very friendly & show a genuine interest in your pet.They are very reasonable with prices & will try to help you with all your pet needs.Highly recommend anyone with pets to go here.

The guys here are all fantastic. We have had our rabbits in here a few times for different reasons. One of our rabbits got very dehydrated last summer with the extreme heat, i called them at 5.50pm and they told me to bring her straight over. They kept her in over night and told us they would let me know how she was the following morning, 8am i had a call to say she was much better and we could come and get her. They did a wonderful job in getting her better, I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a good vet.

I have for a number of years gone to a local vet near our house. After a dispute & pricing, I went to another vet, which I have used for several years. When I rang them today for an appointment, they were closed (despite the website). I rang Mt Hutton, and they said they could fit us straight in. After a short wait, our cat was checked, & given an injection. He seems okay now.

They have great service and workers. They help all native animals. I have recently found a possum in my backyard that was injured and they took amazing care of it.

The best vet hospital in newcastle I have had a few of my animals there they are very compassionate and caring they are all there for the animals and make you feel less stressed Its not a good feeling to have you animal sick or put to sleep but the team at mount hutton make it less stressful

We had to have our dog put to sleep but the vets tried everything they could beforehand. The staff are caring and the prices are very reasonable. If you care about your pets and you care about their welfare i recommend taking them there.

had to take my dog there as he had an skin infection they are very friendly to me and my dog the treatment and creams fixed the problem .they rang me to see how the dog was going and to tell me that the other tablet were there the place was clean and did not smell

Very clean vet, the service provides a great grooming service my dog doesn't seem to want to leave after getting his coat clipped.
The vet service is great, the vets are kind and caring and they give his needles with care and always give him a good looking over. They also have a pet minding service i have not used but it is convienient
