decent food, but of course you have to pay more because you're in an airport. about $20 for breakfast. haphazard wait staff, there was one lady who gave up on finding peoples table numbers and just started shouting orders across the restaurant, so that wasnt great.

The flavours that you experience with this food are wonderful, I really loved the tapas idea - but there were too few vegetables for me (perhaps due to my choices). I had sardines (but not available with lemon as originally offered) - they came still in their own tin which is quite fun served with toast(they were delicious), an anchovie on cracker with frozen sorbet (lovely) and a whole grilled snapper - again, beautifully cooked. Some dishes were quite laden with oil though. My companion had the blood sausage, beans with cheese (I can't remember the spanish names for the dishes, my apologies)and a bomba. I had a Spanish Martini. It was very nice, I would go again. One thing - due to the tapas style, they will find it difficult to align the dishes so that all your guests are served at the same time, you just need to cope with that.

Amazing food! Amazing service. I had never been here before, so we asked the staff to choose 7 dishes for the 4 of us to share and told them what kind of things we liked.
Spot on! Highly recommend this beautiful food.

Go the Calamari buns!

I took my wife, who is part Spanish for Dinner last week for her birthday. We hadn't dined here before but had been a semi-regular diners at the original Movida since it opened at the Carron Tavern in West Melbourne. We prefer the feel of the Hosier Lane Tapas Bar than this one. The food was OK but nothing special. The prices were way too high for what was on offer especially when you compare it to a Tapas Bar in Spain. I think it must be high because of the high number of staff they have working there. There was one major disappointment and that was the Spanish wine I was served. At $14 a glass it was awful. It had oxidised. I have never had to send back a glass of wine before this evening. Thankfully, the waitress replaced it with wine from a newly opened bottle. It wasn't that much better. Dear Frank Camorra, please review your wine list. It maybe extensive but you shouldn't have wine this bad on your list, especially at the prices you charge. The best thing about the evening was the service. Finally, if you want good Spanish food in a place that has atmosphere, go to Movida in Hosier Lane not Movida Aqui. Leave this place to the suits who work in the area.

Approximate cost: $17.50 - $75.00

Went to Movida Aqui on 5th of march to celebrate my daughters birthday. I had booked a table for that night well in advance as it was a special occassion. I did mention when booking that it we were celebrating a birthday and asked if they do anything to make it special. I was told that when i ordered desserts they would put some candles on the plate and surprise my daughter with it. On the night we were there we ordered their dessert platter and waited and waited and waited ...for half an hour. I got up and tried to discreetely get the attention of the hostess who was serving us and mentioned about the birthday and candles and asked why it was taking so long. She replied that dessert and candles would soon be on our table. Finally when the platter came out NO CANDLES. We started eating dissappointd that the evening did not end as planned for my daughters special night. The hostess did not even have the decency to come up to me to explain what happened. I had to finally call her over and ask her. Apparently they ran out of candles. Just a brief sorry and that was it. I called up Movida next day and spoke to someone about my dining experience. She apologised and said that they would give me priority as it takes along time ot get a booking at their restaurant. As if I will be coming back in a hurry.Very dissappointed as it was meant to be a surprise birthday celebration. Overall food is good but a bit overpriced

We had a cosy intimate long lunch at Movida Aqui. We had an informative waitress who made stunning recommendations and had intimate knowledge of the food she was recommending. She pronounced the Spanish names of the dishes with accuracy but without making you feel you were ignorant.

The quality of the food was exceptional, giant prawns, wagyu beef. The tapas allowed for a communal "feel" to the dining and stimulated the palate. The experience provided an opportunity to savour the food rather than just gulp it down with fork and knife. It required the use of fingers, which enhanced the physical experience.

I would recommend this to anyone for the quality and service. They were both tops.
