I enjoyed doing mystery shopping for about 2 yrs. i used to signed up for a few different companies back 6 yrs ago. There was a better company called Hoed, not sure they still exist. I used to choose parramatta and Macquarie park area, so there were plenty of work. Some weeks I had more than 3 assignments, each paid between $20 to $40 depending on the complexity of the job. Bt you need to jump online and grab the job fast because there were other mystery shoppers in the same area, first in first served. It was fun and great to have some extra money.

I currently do a few mystery shops for several different companies. This particular company is okay but I wouldn't say it was one of my favourites: the pay is not that brilliant but the assignments were fairly straightforward. I've done three assignments so far and they were all food related. I don't get paid much from my normal work so any little extras I can get are really appreciated. I also like that I get to eat out and be reimbursed for it (any excuse not to cook).

My take on the mystery shopping concept is that the pay is not great however if the jobs are for places you would normally go to and use AND if you have the time then you can get a little pocket money for doing what you would normally do, provided it is not out of your way. Admittedly you need to spend time reading the assignment beforehand and then filling in the report afterwards.

It works out better if you can do several mystery shops in a certain area and don't have to spend a lot of time travelling (this would require you to sign up with several companies). It also depends on where you live; if you live in a remote area this would necessitate a great deal of travel to get to the shop. I happen to live in a big city in close proximity to many businesses that get mystery shopped so it works for me (to some extent). But it won't make you rich, it's just pocket money.

Approximate cost: $Usually $20 payment per job but cost of food would be taken out of this.

I to signed up to this company, filled in all these questions but never heard a thing back, not even that they had received my application.

I have registered to hopefully become a member and earn some money but have never been asked to do a mystery shop and have never heard from them, guess I'm just unlucky. Would love to be involved though.

I have registered to be a mystery shopper more than once and have never received any offer to help out. Guess I'm not one of the lucky ones because I hear they pay quite well.

This company was the first I ever did a mystery shop for, I was nervous. I have completed many shops for them and also many other companies which I think are great, if you can do several jobs in the one location it is worth the time and effort.

I've read the review for Mystery shopper, and joined since then. It appear to be a great opportunity for me to make a few bucks on the side. 3 weeks into it, I've only had assignments that seem to me only as a chore. They're always far, required me to visit in certain hours, and rewards weren't really up to date with the 21st century.

I feel as though if you live in those areas where the mystery shopper activity is high, you may benefit from it, but it just isn't worth it for me.

Signing up with them was a hassle too, a lot of fields to fit in, lots to read, and I didn't understand some of the clause they were referring to.

You're also required to complete 2 assessment like features, one of them a quiz, the other a demo report. Demo report I'm fine with , but the quiz, you get asked questions about how the business operates, I've read their policies and conditions, some weren't made out clear, others can't be found. I'm thinking they were getting you to use your common sense or something.

At the end of the day I won't be using their service in the future. service is very geographically limited, too much paper work for the reward.

I would not recommend this until mystery shopper is much more active nationally all around Australia. Those who live in the area with high activities and opportunities may enjoy walking in and writing up a report as a hobby. Just not for me.

It is a bizarre company, it's a great concept in principle. They made me do a McDonald's test and learn how to do their mystery store thingy and then sent me to Windsor store, when I live in Waterloo well that wasn't happening for $30.00. I have two stores within a kilometer that would have made more sense?

I looked into this and felt there was alot of paperwork, work and travel to do for very little money. Some people would enjoy it if they like getting out and about.

Was considering giving this a go - don't think I will now as it does seem like a lot of work for a small reward, like the other reviewers say it might work for you on a local basis but it is pocket money only

I enjoy being part of Mystery Shopper. I tend to only do the local jobs as if you choose to travel a fair distancefor assignments the payment may not be worth your while. Nevertheless I enjoy it as I am able to go 'under cover' and give some useful feedback to the companies involved. They also pay quite promptly (within 2 weeks) which is quicker than most other 'survey/feedback' type companies.

I was a mystery shopper for a few months and then quit. You don't earn very much and it isn't very fun. You have to complete a lot of paperwork online after going to the business checking it all out and usually buying something.
