We attended a Sparkling High Tea here on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was beautifully set out and the decor was excellent.

The table linens and cutlery were of the highest standard and the presentation of the High Tea was beautiful.

We were offered a large variety of organic loose leaf teas including some very exotic ones that were divine. All teas were served in lovely colourful Wedgewood teapots, cups and saucers. The designs were very eye catching.

We were also offered unlimited sparkling wine and organic coffee.

Several three tiered stands arrived at our table with an assortment of savoury bites and cakes. These were all of a very high standard and were very tasty.

We all enjoyed the experience and took our time to fully enjoy the high tea. I would recommend this as a special treat for Mother's Day etc. There was one group of ladies there celebrating the birth of a baby.

This is difficult one to to write due to differing experience/opinions between myself and partner. It all started well enough with complimentary bread (4 nice buns, not your normal sliced baguette with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and butter). I had to highlight this as most restaurants nowadays charge for bread, which I think is a pity.

We were pretty happy with our entrees - I had half dozen Oysters Kilpatrick ($27) and he had Scallop with Tuna Loin ($24). For mains, I had the crispy skin Barramundi with chorizo mash (approx $35) and it was cooked well and enjoyable. My partner ordered the 24 hour braised ribs with potato dauphanoise (fancy potato bake) and carrots. It seemed to be a popular dish as I saw a few tables around us ordering it. The ribs came in a 7-8cm square and about the same size of potato gratin with 3 little heirloom carrots and a little pot of jus. He found the presentation lacklustre but I found it ok (although very minimalist). The ribs were very underseasoned and the jus tasted oily and likened the quality to having a McDonalds meal.

For dessert we shared a caramel popcorn cheesecake and we both found it very ordinary, almost like a product of a third rate bakery.

To make matters worse, my partner ordered a glass of wine and the size of the pour was very tiny, almost unbelivably so. And it was inconsistent as the table next to us had a proper amount of wine poured. I guess it depends on the waiter you get.

Service is ok, it tries to be polite and elegant and professional, but felt a bit haphazard. Not what I expect from a restaurant in a 5 star hotel.

All in all, I enjoyed my food but the experience was pretty ordinary for the price you pay. Some of the steaks were $52 !

Where do I start with this amazing fine dining restruant in the heart of Perth, well you walk in and the scenery is simply beautiful, the hotness of the night will take you and sit you down, give you amuse bouche on the house ( yum) different every night. And the food here is so yummy you just want more and more and more specially the venison Wellington yum, and the deserts are to die for

Stayed at the Sheraton and decided to have dinner at Origins. It helped that we had the Entertainment Gold card as it is pricey. The setting is lovely; perfect for a romantic evening. We were given a table by the pool. The food was only so-so, although desserts were delicious. The presentation was clumsy and messy. My parner's lamb was swimming in a large serving of a very thin jus, splashed all about the plate. I had a seafood pasta - the flavours of which were excellent. Just a shame it was swimming in oil. The pasta was overcooked and had been sitting a while which made it clump together. I have a feeling perhaps that the head chef wasn't on that night. The service was a great mix of friendliness and attentiveness but we still had our own space.
