Purchased a pool from Fantastic Fibre Glass pools about 12 months ago. It has been the worst experience, errors and broken promises from start to finish, the salesman talks non stop however most of it is useless information, and when we did have a query or concern he disappeared, does not return phone calls or emails and just comes up with loads of excuses. Overall the service is appalling, the process is way to slow and they are extremely unprofessional. They also seem to change trading names so be aware of it, [redacted - unverified claim] I DON'T recommend this company at all.

great salesman, could talk underwater with a mouth full of marbles.
the actual service was terrible. He failed to register items with the water board as asked. He didnt return calls regaridng the start date, and the pool builder he recommended is the most ineffectual, and negligent person. The whole thing has been a terrible stress from start to finish. and how he can rate 4 stars is beyond me with 3 people having a terrible experience.
Choosing this company has been the worst decision Ive made in years. And we will most likely end up in court.

had the same terrible experience with Fantastic Fibre Glass Pools, he spoke a lot of rubbish, extremely unprofessional and the service was appalling. The high rating is an absolute joke, people need to be aware of how terrible this company actually is.

HI Anthony, I suggest you write a review and talk to the department of fair trading. Im sure he will just change his name and keep operating, but I feel that people need to be warned. My interaction with him since I signed a contract has been terrible and the pool builder he engaged is one of the worst contractors I've ever dealt with.

Purchased a fibre glass pool from [Redacted name] our Consultant. It was delayed initially by a month as they didn't submit to council correctly, then began work without a construction certificate, putting us at risk of a fine by Council. They put the pool in on 5 August and filled it with water but didn't install the pump until 28 October - 12 weeks later! When we asked repeatedly during this time what the hold up was, [Redacted name] the builder told us we were 'the next job', 'the rain held us up', 'i'll be there next week' however he never showed up or even called us to say he wasn't coming. He rarely answered the phone or returned messages and [Redacted name] just kept saying he would 'speak with him'. In the meantime we were expected to keep paying for a temporary fence, as we couldn't get a permanent one up until the concreting had been done. With 3 primary school aged kids a temporary fence around a massive pool filled with water that kept falling over when it was windy worried us a lot! We also had to keep putting chlorine in every week to stop it becoming a mosquito cesspool. When [Redacted name] finally installed the pump, it took 4 days of running the pump 10 hours a day and hours and hours of cleaning the bucket loads of filth from the pool and daily cleaning of the filter to keep it running and get the water swimmable. Around week 8 of the pool being there we threatened to go to Fair Trading, at which point [Redacted name] accused us of being insensitive as he'd had an operation the week before, that it was our responsibility to keep paying for the fence (because we demanded he pay for it) and it wasn't his problem that the contractor hadn't finished yet - however he'd had nearly two months before this to ensure HIS contractor had finished the job. He told us at the start it would take a week, maybe two and they would be done but it took 12 weeks! We were NOT happy, the excitement we had of finally getting a pool put in has been marred by this horrible experience. Don't use this lot and if you do, put in completion dates with financial penalties if they don't finish on time.

It sounds like the same builder too FYI I'm fighting the builder in fair trading right now. And have hired a lawyer to go after both of them, as they should not be allowed to treat people like this. Let me guess I bet he increased his quote the day before the pool was to be installed?

He didn't change his quote, but ripped us off on other things he promised us by changing things without consulting us. Since then he's seen this review and threatened not to honor the warranty if our pool cracked and said he won't be doing anything for us anymore - as if we'd want him to! He knew we were unhappy long before I did this and did nothing about it - he just didn't care. I wish we had seen reviews like this before engaging him!

The complainant fails to mention that they purchased a pool shell & filtration equipment from Fantastic Fibreglass Pools & an independent licensed pool builder contacted with them to install the pool.
The only thing Fantastic Fibreglass Pools is responsible for is the delivery of the goods subject to that contract.
The installation problems that are the basis of this negative review are not the responsibility of Fantastic. Fibreglass Pools.

As to the slow approvals, the client never informed me of the Council Special requirements, which meant that this could not be approved by a private certifier & had to be submitted as a D/A to Council.

When the Certifier visited the property, she spoke with the clients & together they decided to change the position of the pool as well as other changes, which meant redrawing of the original plans and resubmission.

The Certifier then lodged with Council as a D/A however, a Construction Certificate was not a part the D/A submission & obtaining the final approvals was a long drawn out experience which I had no control over.

The rest of the complaint is with the installer which as stated above does NOT work for me.

During this time I was hospitalised for a Quadruple Bypass Open-heart Surgery, which was referred to as an operation by the complainant. This had nothing to do with any of the concerns the complainant has mentioned.
Due to the fact that I do not sell Fibreglass Pools any more, that business is no longer trading.

I still own Ownerbuilder Pool Services which is a service that provides help & advice to owner builders who wish to build a Concrete Pool.

I also take exception to the complainant using different names to complain on more than one occasion which I feel is very wrong.

Wow! Glad your experience was a good one! Barry has been virtually non contactable with loads of excuses and it's been 2 years and we still can't get our pool certified!
