We had the special Chinese New Year buffet last weekend. Wow, by Perth standards, this place offers pretty good value for money. It was $65 per pax and though it seems pretty chunky, it is worth it. The spread includes cold oysters, cold prawns, mussels (replaced with baby octopus after it ran out), a huge selection of cold salads (coleslaw, potato salad, vermicelli salad, etc), smoked salmon, antipasto (grilled eggplant, button mushrooms, etc), pumpkin, broccoli. For the hot items, the winner was the Peking Duck. It was delicious and you could basically have as much as you want. A couple who arrived at 8pm was so dissapointed as they ran out of Peking Duck, which is think is a shame as it should be available until close to closing to be fair to patrons. There was also many other Asian delights due to the Chinese New year - fried rice, noodles, sesame chicken, XO stir fried turnip cake, beef curry and there was also steak. The dessert bar included bread and butter pudding, caramel panacotta, fruit, many little cakes and tarts, ice cream (the mandarin sorbet was nice).

All in all, I truly enjoyed myself and left with a full belly.

We had the buffet lunch recently. I've been a number of times and have to say that the quality of the food is not consistent. When we dined in November 2010, the dishes were well prepared and the desserts were to die for. There was a good variety of seafood the day we went (fresh crabs, prawns and oysters). We used a 2 for 1 voucher which makes it excellent value. It is however, expensive dining without the voucher and without one, I would only go on a special occasion. The service was attentive with our plates cleared regularly (a must for the buffet style lunch) and water glasses re-filled. I think that it is one of the better buffet restaurants in Perth at the moment.

A buffet that is extensive and satisfying. A good place for celebration with friends. The food is fresh and the roasts are moist and of good quality. Very expensive but always worth visiting again

Approximate cost: $60
