If you have a big sweet tooth like myself, Pasticceria Papa is the right place for you. Friends who live nearby swear by this place and their ricotta cheesecake. We grabbed a slice and it was delicious. Soft, creamy and lots of ricotta, hard not to see why this cheesecake is a winner.

There are lots of delicious cakes (both whole and slices), tarts, sweet biscuits, so hard not to buy them all from this local Italian cake and cafe . The cannoli is also a winner here in my books. Grab a coffee to go as well or some icy cold granita.

Great place to come and satisfy your sweet tooth for sure, will be back for more tempting and tasty treats!

I like its coffee and pastries because they always fresh and taste. go there with friends feel not enough room for us but the service are perfect. still recommend.

I love all the treats available here, and am always amazed at how quickly they serve you considering the line is often out the door. It's no frills kind of service but the price is good and the food and coffee are great. It does get noisy inside but still a great place to have a sweet treat or coffee

Approximate cost: $8

Although I love Papa for its coffee and pastries. I don't find it a great place to meet friends and have coffee as it is so loud in there. All hard surfaces and when it is packed, you really have to strain to each other speak.

Agreed! But I usually pick a warm sunny day and enjoy my coffee and cheesecake outside... much nicer and you can engage in a conversation with friends!

My brother in law bought a baked riccotta cheesecake for a birthday and found a hair in it after half the cake was eaten. When I returned the cake the boss did not even come out and talk to me, knowing that I had brought it back from Carlingford. He/she kept sending messages through a waitress. They said it was the hair of the pastry brush and not a human hair. They also offered me 1/2 a cake back because I returned only the half that still had the hair lodged in it and said that they could only do that because we ate the other half. I told them that we only ate the other half because we didn't know there was a hair in it and I then asked for a full refund, they gave it back to me begrudgingly and I did not even receive an apology for the inconvenience. On leaving I had to order a hot milk for my 2 yr old because it was nearing her bed time and they were stingy they even asked for the $3 for my milk. A normal owner would have shown some humility and embarrassment for the incident said "no no just take it".

Approximate cost: $39

Disgraceful and arrogant. Are the customers around just to please the owners? No business is bullet proof and this place should change its attitude!

The best ricotta cheesecakes in Sydney. I've heard they have other food that's good but I've never gotten past the cheesecake. Be prepared to queue for awhile though, this place is popular.

The little cakes here are fabulous.
Good variety of treats that are great for a special treat for yourself or look very impressive if you are having guests come over.
You can eat in or just take away.
On weekends the line can be quite long to get served but worth the wait.

Totally agree! I've seen the line out the door and down the street (no exaggeration) on many Saturdays. But its impressive how quickly they do serve everyone!

Papas has delicious treats! The ricotta cake is absolutely amazing, it is light and fluffy, not to cheesy, and the pastry is soft and melts in your mouth. Apart from the wait on weekends, take away is quite quick, but sitting in is where the real italian experience is at!
