It was a nice day to be out and we decided paul's would be great for some fish and chips. Unfortunately our meal was disappointing, we couldn't understand how the chips were soggy, very oily and the fish was overcooked, dry, crisp. A waste of money, not pleasant at all. Previously, it was great. Unsure if we will return.
Really is a great fish and chip place so I will forgive them for my most recent purchase. I ordered some fish, potato cakes and chips for myself, girlfriend and a few friends, I was asked if I wanted everything salted and of course I said yes. Yet when we arrived at our destination to eat our purchase, we found not the slightest hint of any SALT. Therefore, we didn't enjoy it, until my friend purchased some salt. That was annoying and inconvenient, but as I said I will not rate them on the non-existent salt. Service was great and the food was very fresh.
Called in here recently for a quick bite. Service was attentive. My husband really enjoyed his snapper, which was moist and flaky with not too much batter. I had the prawns, calamari and scallops. The prawns and calamari were delicious and well cooked, which with calamari is not always the case. The scallops were ok. I'd say they weren't a premium grade and quite small. The potatoes were great - nice change instead of chips.
have enjoyed fish and chips here a few times, however they forgot to salt my last purchase
Here is what good fish and chips (and seafood) should be like.
Other businesses should be able to use this place as their standard.
The atmosphere and the service were nice and not intrusive. But they were busy, so you wouldn't expect them to come over and talk to you.
I'd come here again definitely

Disappointing - I agree that it used to be great
