Awesome, amazing selection of fragrances! loved the layout and atmosphere of the store! wonderful!
I visited the store today and was horrified at how rude the owner was to me. I was trying to track down a hard to find bespoke perfume that was made in Melbourne and had seen in another shop. The sales assistant (I assume was the owner) could not have been ruder when she told me "we don't carry any local perfumes... perhaps you should go back to that place instead." Patronising, snooty and outrageously rude. I had been a customer there previously but never again.

I offer my sincere apologies that your visit to our store was so disappointing.
Perhaps I can offer my side of the experience for those of you reading reviews of our store.
A young women came in to visit our store and was greated cordially and asked if I could offer any assistance. The young women was clearly looking for something specific and I asked if I could help. She was looking for a perfume that she could not recall either the name of the brand or the scent itself, I asked if she could recall anything further about the fragrance. The fragrance was made in Melbourne and was a Gardenia scent. I answered that we do not stock any fragrances manufactured in Melbourne (this was a statement of fact and was made in a couteous manner). I offered to show the customer a number of Gardenia fragrances that we do host in our store and it was quite obvious that the customer had her heart set on this fragrance she had experienced in a store in Camberwell (which is 5 minutes away from Hawthorn)
I am indeed the store owner and the suggestion to return to the store where the customer experienced her fragrance was kindly and respectfully meant. I hope this customer has secured her coveted fragrance and enjoys it and I am truly sorry that she could not have picked up the phone and discussed her experience with me directly.

Such a beautiful shop inside with amazing boutique branded fragrances you will not find anywhere else. Do not be intimidated to go in as the ladies are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I gave what I like and normally wear and Jill was able to give me some suggestions. You get the 5 star treatment in this store. Best place to get a gift for someone as well.
I have nothing but positive feedback to report about Peony. I am a regular customer, purchasing for my wife and mother and as a male who knows nothing about fragrances I have found their service excellent. The store is beautifully presented with a range of boutique labels that are hard to choose from. As mentioned Peony's staff (including the store owner) were very accommodating to my ignorance and were able to direct me to purchase products which were much appreciated by both my wife and mother.
