Our gas hot water has had a few issues (e.g. hot water cutting out during showering occasionally) and delayed hot water due to the distance between the water heater and the bathroom and kitchen. Two previous plumbers had checked things out and recommended a new system. However, we got Peter out for a free quote and he noticed that our gas regulator was quite old and under-sized and needed replacing. He contacted our gas retailer and arranged for them to come out 4 days later to upgrade our gas regulator. This has improved our hot water, although it's still not perfect. Peter did this for free. His first recommendation was to do something that wouldn't earn him any money. In my book, this sort of service from a tradesman is extremely rare. So I highly recommend Peter. He also appeared far more knowledgeable than other plumbers I've dealt with in talking about potential hot water problems and potential solutions.
