I recently bought a scooter from Peter Stevens in Ringwood. I dealt with Greg Van Beek. He was a pleasure to deal with. He was not a pushy at all in the entire sale, purchase and collection process. I highly recommend if you want to buy a bike from Peter Stevens to deal with him. Prior to dealing with him with spoke with various other sales people there and they were pushy and somewhat arrogant. We picked the scooter up later on a Friday and he stayed back after the shop was closed to explain to my wife all of the controls. Thanks Greg!

Approximate cost: $7000

One of the biggest and best ranges of bikes and bike gear around. Just bought replacement visor and staff very helpful with options and suggestions and they even fitted the new one for me on my helmet. Would shop here again.

I went to this store to buy some gloves as a gift for a friend who rides a motorbike

I found the staff were helpful and friendly in helping me choose the right product, since I had no idea of motorbike gear!

I went in to the store, being my first time ever in a motorbike shop.. Instantly I was great by a salesman.... who gave me excellent information on models and laws regarding regulations for on road. Great scene-scape and the ambience of the store is very comfortable and sharp... Upstairs I was greeted by another fantastic worker who helped me choose out a helmet. The best thing was their range is massive and prices are same as what you find from cheap online web pages, but also the salesman never tried to up-sell and really just encouraged me that the designs of helmets I was looking at were much better than the other cheaper options... So good I am going all the way to the city today to check out their clearance store! :)

Had an off and ordered some replacement parts like fairings, brackets etc. on back order (5 weeks lead time usually). When i went to pick up the parts they ordered some of the parts in the wrong colour. Said to me they needed to consult the manufacturer as the manufacturers website wasn't clear on which part numbers were correct (always provide VIN number when ordering spares, even though these guys didn't want it when offered) and would call me first thing on the Monday once they confirmed. Waited till Thursday and decided to call them as they had not returned my call. They had not spoken to the manufacturer and said they would immediately and call me back, which they didn't. I had to call them later on in the day. It turned out that the correct part needed to be put on a back order (another 5 weeks). Expressing my annoyance to them fell on deaf ears and their response was that's how it is and bad luck. When trying to fit the parts that were ordered correctly some had bolt holes that were cross threaded. I called to inform them of this and was told that this is a manufacturers defect and they would get back to me once they talked to the manufacturer. They never called me back and I have given up on chasing them up. It has been a very expensive lesson but one I will never forget. Don't go there!!!!! I certaily won't. I guess while people keep going back, this will keep occuring and their customers will just be numbers. Don't believe that because they are an authorised dealer that they know what they are talking about, becasue they don't.

Not good service at all.

I booked my Honda VTR100F in for a service in October. It's difficult for me to get in to the city, then out to work in Balwyn by tram, then in to the city again by tram, all in peak hour, but I thought I would get my Honda serviced by the so-called specialists. I picked the bike up, rode home, and noticed the lower fairing was missing! Rang up the next day, they admitted they still had it, I had to ride in on Saturday and wait for it to be fitted. I complained and was offered a $50 credit for the next service.

In february I booked the bike in to get the CCTs replaced and the chain adjusted. When I arrived I was told it was booked in for a 48K service! No, I said, it's only done 45K, and I'm here for replacement CCTs. OK they said. That afternoon, after battling trams, peak hour traffic etc I pick the bike up: the service adviser cheerfully tells me they have adjusted the chain, and the mechanic advises the CCTs need replacing, and I should book the bike in! Well, I exploded, telling them that's exactly what the bike was booked in today for!

This time I lodged a complaint with the Service Manager. He offered to have the bike picked up and delivered home by tow-truck, so I would not be inconvenienced by yet another trip into the city. Fair enough, so I booked the bike in for Friday 13th (I should have known!). I get a phone call on Friday afternoon - "the computer said they had two CCTs in stock, but there is only 1 on the shelf" - they have to keep the bike over the weekend. Damn, I had organised a ride with mates that weekend.

I get a phone call the following Wednesday saying the bike is all fixed, I paid over $1000 over the phone, and expected the bike to be delivered that evening. Get home, no bike. The next evening, get home, no bike. Ring again, and was told "oh no, the deal was for pickup only, not delivery of the bike back home". So I have to go in early last Saturday and pick the bike up. And I finally realise my $50 credit from the original stuff-up is nowhere to be seen.

Subsequent calls to the service manager go unanswered.

Peter Stevens, you've got to be kidding. You are a joke, with the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Never again.

Approximate cost: $1000

Im female and looked at purchasing a motorcycle from here five years ago. I walked in and got giggled at. They looked at me funny as I was looking at the 250 range. Everyone was staring at me and I was uncomfortable. I went up stairs to look at gear, I got served immediately but they tried selling me the most expensive everything, they then tried talking me in to purchasing a brand new Honda cruiser. All i wanted was a 2nd hand CBR. Not helpful to females at all and tried to take advantage of me. Im not stupid! ANyone wanting a bike go the trading post!! Females, take a guy with you! Unless you really really know what your talking about!.......... I went in here a couple months ago again to get some spark plugs and oil etc. The service has improved and the guy was extremely helpful and nice, although I do know what Im talking about now. He did try and get me to test ride an R1 though even though I just wanted the above. He ended up giving me his card and told me to call him anytime I like, lol. No intentions but was nice offer.

i definately agree that going there you can feel uncomfortable looking at bikes etc, but i dont think they try and upsell, how much is your safety worth? lol of course they will try and make you spend more, its their job but if you have a budget, let them know and they can work around it.
remember it is safety items you are buying. just tell the salesmen/women straight out what your looking for.
