Ordered a pumpkin feta quiche hot out of oven for a luncheon. It was perfect for eight people with a salad and baguette. Thin crisp crust ,full of sweet pumpkin, spinach feta and a perfect custard.

Approximate cost: $55

Expensive but delicious. They have high quality products and sell out quickly. Love the sour dough bread from here

I buy my sourdough bread at Phillipa's since I arrived in Melbourne two years ago and found their shop by chance. They have three different locations, the service is very good in all of them. If you want to get your dark sourdough you have to be early or call to reserve one. It is sold out quickly every day. Their other products are just as good. Do visit this store.

Approximate cost: $6.50

My mother swears by this store so since I was in the area thought I'd give it a go! Great store with friendly staff, picked up a few loafs and some biscuits. Bread smelled really great and the taste was exceptional. So fresh and soft inside, I don't think I've ever had bread like this before! Weird I know, but it's hard to explain - go try some yourself!

I rarely give 5 out of 5 for a business, but I think that my favourite business in each category deserves 5 out of 5. Phillipas is definitely my favourite bakery and I especially like the pane toscano either plain or with olives. This bread tastes just like bread does in Italy and France. I am not sure if it is the flour, but there is something very different about it. It's almost creamy in color and texture and there is nothing quite like it that I have found here in Australia.

Approximate cost: $4.50

Also has a great range of "after dinner goodies"- to die for brownie slice and biscottis and almond bread as well as spicy nuts and beautiful jams and preserves. At Christmas you can't go past their Cranberry and Orange sauce!
