this place is always very homely and welcoming. on a cold frosty night this place is always warm with the gorgeous wood fire. the food is great with a huge function room. the lunches are very generous for the small amount you pay. the dinners are huge and always very fresh looking. the staff always greet you well and try to help you with everything you need. this place is not very noisy and very family friendly.

A true landmark hotel. Offers a great meal with many special nights such as snitzel night. They have a working man's bar with a lot of regulars, but you can also sit in the foyer for a drink if this does not appeal to you. Meals are general hotel fare, not great choices for vegetarians though.

I have visited many times and am sad to say that it seems to have deteriorated slowly and over time.

My last visit was on a Tuesday night, there weren't many people dining in yet food took forever to get to us.

I ordered a steak, my husband ordered a steak and kidney pie, my sons a chicken enchilada and fish and chips.

My steak was lovely and came served on a bed of mashed potatoes with wilted spinach. Hubby was pleased with his meal but didn't think it was anything more than pub food (well it is a pub, right!). The serve of fish was small but pleasant tasting with the batter being crispy and not too oily.

The chicken enchilada was terrible. Very little chicken, too much capsicum and onion and the tortilla it was wrapped in was overcooked to the point of stiffness. I ended up giving my son my meal.

The kids wanted dessert but by the time we went backup the dessert we had prepaid for was gone. We were offered a refund and a choice of another dessert as a way to make amends.

Overall the place is what you would expect from a pub, I would think the food would be a little better since it was in the dinning room.

Approximate cost: $18-$25

Ordered 2 meals, fish & chips & chicken, mushroom & spinach fettuccine (one of my favourite meals when having a quick meal out). The fish & chips tasted good but just a small serve with one small piece of fish. The fettuccine had a delightful flavour with plenty of sauce, mushroom & spinach. The chicken in the dish however was not freshly cooked(tasted as if it had been cooked an refrigerated for 2 or more days) and after having a few random pieces, decided they were inedible and left them on the side of the plate. The waitress disn't query why ther was so much chicken left on the plate.

Approximate cost: $15.00

What can I say, I was a regular customer, but no more. I am sick of paying good money for over priced crappy food. It is never consistent. The staff are friendly but not prompt. Give it a miss if you want to eat good food at a good price.

I took my partner there for a good pub parma after he had really enjoyed one years earlier. He didn't seem to enjoy it quite as much as the time before, feeling that the quality wasn't as good. I was recovering from being ill so I only ordered a side of wedges and received a bowl so big it'd feed the two of us enough for dinner. The service was very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic value for money. Upmarket pub food with generous serves. Always great specials on the board. Can never get through my main course. Function rooms available and a different theme for different days.

Approximate cost: $25
