Beautiful. Definitely different to the usual function space or hotel ballroom. The plaza ballroom is delightful. To enter your walk through a red carpet entrance, descending into the exclusive enclave, through a suite of pre event rooms, past the cloakrooms, and then into the actual ballroom itself.
The ballroom is stunning and looks like it has been taken out of a page in Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty. It has a slightly medieval feel to it, perhaps because of the architecture and subdued lighting. However the warm tones used, prevent a certain stark gloominess which is common to this interior theme. Another aspect which I liked about this space, is that it is interesting and not bland. There are many facets to the venue, the unique chandeliers, the wall art, the ceiling features, the split level floorspace, the stage (complete with curtain, concealed backstage and green room). I attended an industry lunch here and was transported into another world for several hours.

I recently went into the Plaza Ballroom for a christmas party, and the place is incredible! From what I've heard, it's on the more pricey side of things, but wow - it's worth the money! The chandeliers in there, the wall art, the way they dress the place ... it's all very stunning. There are a couple small flights of stairs to go down to get inside, and a cloak room before you enter the ballroom. It is fully carpeted, but they can put down a hard floor for you. I spent half my dinner imagining my wedding here! The price as far as I've heard, includes everything - catering, dressing etc. The food we had was master chef type stuff, and extremely well presented. There are curtains hanging everywhere, and you feel like you are on a private planet - just you and your party. Fits loads of people too - it's massive!
