Think gorgeous house conversion café with double panelled glass doors opening to little courtyards. Food is always a treat, cant go wrong with any dish you try!

A favorite for breakfast, P+MJ do great coffee, their menu is always current, the food is always fresh and delicious. Only things holding me back from 5 stars are sometimes lengthy wait times (I guess these can't be helped), occasionally nonchalant wait staff, and cash only policy.

Great food, coffee and ambience. You can sometimes wait too long for service but it's a great place to come to. A lovely dining environment.The best suggestion is to try it mid-week as the wait on the weekends can be off putting. My friend adored the smashed avocado. I just had eggs on yummy grainy bread and it was delicious.

Have been for brunch and lunch. The brunch here is very good, and I've had several dishes including Mr Jones golden folded scrambles (eggs) and also the smashed avocado with mushrooms etc. The lunch risotto was yummy, and the rear courtyard is beautiful. Fresh seasonal ingredients, great coffee, but it's a more 'adult' cafe. Not great for toddlers etc although highchairs are provided.

Undeniably great food and coffee is always good too. Mr Jones folded scrambles are my favourite and the steak sanga deserves a special mention too! Does get very busy though and sometimes feels like its not worth the hassle. Be prepared to wait on a sat or sun morning.

I do enjoy the food here, the menu is innovative and has some great breakfast options that are different to your standard eggs and toast. Service could be improved as staff don't seem to be coping with the amount of people coming in. My favorite item is the cheesy toast with eggplant chutney. Cash only policy is frustrating!

I grabbed a coffee from here this morning. The coffee was good but the service was terrible. The person that took my order was rude and I had to wait 15 minutes for a takeaway coffee. She didn't appreciate being reminded twice by me that I was still waiting. Table service might be better.

Food and coffee; generally amazing. Service is hit and miss in terms of attentiveness but not attitude, attitude always good. The place is heaving practically all the time and I can imagine very hectic to be a waiter in so this is understandable to a point. The price is somewhat pricey but the ingredients are quality and combinations are delicious and you can see that thought has gone in to the menu and I am happy to pay for it. They need to get EFTPOS though, it's just weird that they don't have it.

Best breakfast place in Hawthorn East..Does get busy though, and with very good reason. Scrumptious food... Only negative thing I have to say is you can only pay by cash.. I don't always have it on me so it means I can't go as often as I want to.

Another one of my favorite local places to go for lunch. The breakfast and lunch menus here are really nice. My favorite menu item is the open steak sanga with blood orange relish...omg!!! yummo!!
I have been here also for a function in the upstairs dining room, which was very unpleasant. I mean, the food was great but the room is awfully crowded, it is literally just tables and chairs.
