Another really great cut/colour at Punch. It doesn't matter who does the job, it's always a great result and a fun time!

I have been getting my hair cut by Nicole at Punch for three years now and she is outstanding. This is no exaggeration as, in the past, I've been pretty bad with my salon hopping but I am more than happy to lay down my hat at Punch. Nicole (as well as the rest of the staff) are genuinely friendly and fun and most importantly attentive to what you want, even able to extract what you want when you don't know yourself! I always look forward to my appointments (you get a lovely head massage with your wash too) and am, without exception, over the moon with my cuts which I always get compliments on. I started with longish hair, went really, really short and now, with a succession of fantastic easy to maintain cuts, got it long again so I've pretty much had every kind of hairstyle and loved them all.

Punch is a funky colourful salon which is fun to visit. The chairs are comfortable and you are offered a good coffee and a great selection of teas while you wait (which is never too long), looking out the large windows onto bustling High Street, Northcote.

The easiest five stars I've ever given!

I loved loved my hair done by Martha .. I was made very comfortable being there for the first time .. I am deaf and need to take my hearing aid out and everyone communicated with me well, ensuring I could understand them - this is a HUGE factor for me ... I am going to be a regular there ... Great - good haircut and conversation! I have been going to Punch for 9 years and they're great. They always do a good job and make my hair look good - this is quite an achievement! They also have great music.

I've been a customer of Punch's ever since I moved to Northcote, so that's 9 big years. I love going to get a cut and colour. Nicole is a terrific hairdresser. I have thick hair and she always manages to cut it in a way that makes me feel great and best of all, my haircuts last a good few months. Service is always friendly and warm and I have never been pressured to have extra things done to my hair.

I have been going to Punch to have my hair cut and coloured for close to 8 years. I have been to many hair salons and I've become a loyal and regular client of (Nicole) and Punch because I enjoy going there! The staff are friendly and welcoming and always ask if you'd like a drink - I particularly enjoy having a glass of red with my haircut! The salon has a relaxed, retro vibe and they play a good mix of music that's more indie/alternative than mainstream. As far as customer service, technical skill, value for money and the look and feel of the salon goes, it's up there with the best in Melbourne. Punch is cool without being a try hard.

I had a fantastic experience at Punch! I had booked in to go to a salon in Ivanhoe but had found them so rude, unhelpful, and snooty on the phone that I cancelled. Desparately needing a haircut, I google and found Punch. The young man on the other end of the phone was polite and friendly, and worked hard to fit me in. The owner is absolutely lovely - she really listened, was friendly and chatty, and gave me a fabulous hair cut and colour. The best I've ever had in Melbourne. The salon itself is lovely inside, vintage inspired without the attitude! Please give these guys a go, you will not be disappointed!
