My daughter and i would visit the museum on a regular basis when we lived in Tassie and we always enjoyed ourselves. It is one of the only places in Launceston you can go for basically no cost. Some exhibitions do cost a little bit but not much at all. Majority of the museum is free to look at. There is a gold coin donation box as you walk in if you want to give a donation. We love going into the Phenomena factory, looking at the dinosaur collection and looking at older day machinery. Our favorite thing to do is the phenomena factory as there is so many educational activities to do. I like the coke bottle spaceships, where you press a button to fill the bottle up with pressure then it counts down like a proper spaceship launch, then it takes off. You can spend a whole day at the museum and still want to look some more. While looking around we always stop and have something to eat at the cafe and sit outside where there is more equipment kids can explore.
