Not sure why they call it roadside assist if they won't assist you. I had been in an accident where my car was not drivable. They would not send anyone to help or even look at the car as it wasn't a 'break down'. Not happy and very disappointed with their lack of service. Will not be renewing my roadside assistance with them again.

I have called the roadside assistance a few times, and they have been fantastic. Once for a flat tyre and the second for a flat battery. They came within 30 minutes, the guys were very helpful and quick to fix the problem. Highly recommend getting RACV roadside assistance. Great value for money. It's great to have that piece of mind incase something does happen on the road.

An amazing product, the pricing is not amazing, nor are the discounts for the years of membership, however if you take advantage of the extra benefits (like discounts with show your card and save partners) the value does increase, however it really does come down to the partners they are offering at the time and who you are likely to deal with. As far as Road Side Service goes, the AAA clubs are still the best for quality, there are cheaper services available but they just aren't as good.

Approximate cost: $90+

I guess as the saying goes you get what you pay for.

I currently have RACV home insurance and have been with them for 5 years. I get quotes from other insurers like AAMI, GIO, Allianz but RACV are much cheaper and offer the best value for my money. They also provide extra discounts if you have car insurance with them as well. Customer service is not too bad.

i found RACV roadside assistance very helpful and useful...i needed them few times allready to change my tyre, recharge battery (after i left lights on) and to change battery (as it was few years old and my car wouldn't start)...their on call staff and roadside staff are very helpful and you really don't have to wait for long time for them to assist you...you get 8 roadside services in 3 years period for approx. $130.00 of membership cost...i couldn't be happier with them...to change battery costs $120.00...

Approximate cost: $130.00 for 3 years

I've found them very helpful & prompt too. Batteries are a bit pricey though.

Its complete peace of mind if you have the misfortune of your car breaking down. I am a member too and glad to have this membership.
