I would not recommend this florist. I sent a boxed arrangement to my daughter last week and was so disappointed, very few flowers and all dead in two days despite watering.

Approximate cost: $70

This experience began with an email from my wife indicating that she wasn't having a particularly good day at work so I decided to try and cheer her up a bit with some nice flowers (you know, happy wife, happy life and all that).

Around 11.30am I gave Rae's a call to enquire about getting a delivery done that day. The phone was answered by a cheerful, helpful young lady who assured me that delivery that afternoon would not be a problem given the delivery address was also within the Hobart CBD.

I proceeded to place my order, and was asked what I was after (I'm a bloke, how am I supposed to know these things?) so responded with "something bright and cheerful" and advised my budget. I was given the option of including the $8 delivery fee either within said budget or in addition and the lass didn't bat an eyelid at my less then eloquent cheer up message.

I requested the flowers be delivered after 2pm as I knew my wife would be back from lunch by then. I received an email from my wife around 3.30 thanking me for the lovely surprise.

She sent through a photo of a bright, cheerful and fairly well filled bouquet for the price and she was clearly happy with what she received.

Overall, I would say I was very happy with my experience with Rae's and it certainly won't be the last time I use them.
