I go with a group of ladies aged 50 to 90. We eat here 3-4 times a year. They have a table prepared for us when we arrive. We go up to the bar to place our orders and pay individually which suits us very well They are friendly when we place our orders and willing to make some alterations. They serve up pretty quickly. Mostly we like the food although I have had some thing I didn't like. I didn't like the omelette and another of our group did. Over the years we have probably ordered everything on the menu several times. The most usual complaint is that the servings are too big. The desserts are pretty good. One of our group thinks the tiramisu is lovely. I like the mud cake. All varieties of coffee are on offer or you can go into the gaming room and have a free cup of instant coffee or tea made with a tea bag. [All the tea is made with a tea bag.] Many varieties of cold beverages are offered. I offer no opinion on the alcoholic beverages because I don't like alcohol in any form. If we didn't like it here we wouldn't go back like we do. There are several eating places that have gone onto our no go list but this isn't one of them.

Can be a little noisy at times especially around the bar and pokie areas , try and get into restaurant area. Staff friendly and helpful with menu. I felt that the vegies I had with salmon, were cooked all week, but the salmon itself was lovely. Plenty on the menu to pick from. Open from breakfast to late.

The RED LION HOTEL is a great venue to visit. I've been there a few times, for tea, a 40th birthday etc. Each and every time it;s been a good time had by all.
I love that they cater for the kiddies with the play area also :)
Staff are good but can be busy and hard to talk with but all in all i would recommend :)

I went there for an anniversary with my partner and was serve the pork belly and I was not the happiest customer . The meat was over cooked and the skin was not crispy like the way it suppose to be ... It lacked in flavour. If I was to go there again I wouldn't order that ever again... The survive was ok.

Everywhere you can get a parma and chips but not everywhere you can get a great one from, but here you can. Only thing my husband and son ever order and they clean the plate so it must be good. I normally have a pizza and have no complaints, not the best but still very nice and worth the price.
Great childrens playground area gives parents a bit of peace and quiet, while also having the pokie area for the adults.

I love this place, so much so I have my birthday there every year. I am a mother of two and being somewhat of a young mother I have a mixture of friend, some with kids and some without, so it is definitely important to me to find a place that caters for everyone. Somewhere that is laid back and funky but family and child friendly and The Red Lion is the perfect balance of that!! The prices are fair and there's even two different menus if you'd like a cheaper menu, the food is great and staff very accomodating.

Approximate cost: $30

Had a nice parma here, I don't think the price was unreasonable at all, and the sizes of the meals were quite large. Nice, clean space with friendly staff

We were staying in apartments at Golden Point for a few days and asked a local passer by the whereabouts of the nearest pub. We were told just down the road a bit. So we ambled in the direction given and eventually arrived at the Red Lion Hotel. The outward appearance was that it was quite a sizeable pub so after the walk we went in and ordered some drinks and sat in the front patio type area. The drinks went down really well after the walk down. The area was quite unusual in that the heaters were on full bore and only just took the chill off the air as the area was almost fully open to the elements which negated the effect of the heaters. We returned a day or two later for a dabble on the pokies and some more drinks, but on looking at the food menu we soon took a few steps back as the prices were far too dear for a group of pensioners on holiday. There was a cheaper gaming room menu but this was only available for a limited time, and it was past this time and I think the wine on the drinks menu contained traces of "gold" also, going by the prices. We were disappointed at the meal and wine prices so we left and went back to Golden Point and had pizzas at the local pizza place - a lot kinder to our pockets.

Great description of your experience with The Red Lion Hotel. Appreciated your writing ability, TrustFactor and candid comments. Regards, Reeces
