A little bit spooky and a great look into the conditions of the life of a convict..Its pretty much in original condition and although small it still takes a little bit of time to go through it all .

Approximate cost: $10

Loved the Historic Convict History portrayed in the Gaol, very informative, and gave you a real insight into convict life in this era. Lovely bookstore/shop on entry to the Gaol with informative books on Tasmanian subjects and souveneirs, also some lovely art works. Defiinetly worth visiting when in Richmond.

Expected this to be just another gaol, but for some reason this place has an atmosphere about it. It has a great set-up of mannequins representing prisoners, and lots of examples of the way the prisoners lived. Unsure of exact cost of entry as it was included in our tour ticket, but to my mind it was the most interesting part of our tour to Richmond.
