I love the Yum Cha at Ripples and in my opinion its as the best yum cha south of the city. The steamed prawn and scallop dumplings are amazing and the chinese custard tarts are a family favourite. While its always busy, the staff do their best with special requests and that makes it a great family dining destination. The decor is pleasant and the fish tanks are a great distraction when the kids get bored! And be assured the restaurant is now taking pains to let patrons know that they are meeting all food safety and hygiene standards. Try it - you won't be disappointed.

I have found this to be the best Chinese restaurant in the area. We have eaten here for yum cha, and also for dinner and take away. We have generally had very good experiences and have found the food to be really good (although chinese is not my favourite). I was disappointed by recent issues with cleanliness as reported by 366 - I always thought the place seemed really clean. Even though I have read the article about poor practices I would return as my personal experiences have been good.

I've dined here twice and ordered takeway approx a dozen times. Good quality, more expensive than most. You pay for what you get. Servings are generous. Service is attentive. Bookings advisable on weekends.

Great quality Yum Cha with all the usual dishes, but also has the BBQ duck and Roast Pork hanging in the window like in China Town. The Peking duck for dinner is also great, a little on the pricy side for dinner, but well worth it given the quality of the food. There is an upstairs and function room as well. Clean premises and staff are helpful, but can be a little pushy for those who have not had Yum Cha before (But I wouldn't let that put you off!!)

Approximate cost: $15-20

Best Yum Cha outside of Little China! Great range of freshly cooked dumplings and yum cha on trolleys - 7 days a week. Can also order off menu. And they do takeaway too. Best to make a booking on the weekends.
