I shop here occasionally and on my last three visits I have had an appalling experience. First time the fruit and veg were woeful, and it wasn't that the zucchinis were out of season because the fruit shop up the road had a lovely selection. The second time I was nearly ripped off twice in the bottle shop, first they didn't have the sale price on the baileys so i nearly bought soemthing ultra pricy instead, until i asked. Then after I had bought it went to mums and checked the catalogue and i'd been overcharged $3 - something to do with this particular store having an extra special but the prices in the system being the IGA prices. When I returned to get the refund the shelf price still said the full price which is crazy!! When you look at something in the catalogue and then go to the store and it's not as you thought you doubt yourself. Was sooo annoyed. Third visit, had my doubts about scanned prices at the checkout and voiced this, girl brushed me off twice!! then checked receipt wasn't as i thought stood around for 15 mins looking for help and direction as to how to deal with this, EVERYONE incl the supervisor ignored me and my two yo. Finally got some assistance when i lined up again and was directed to a black and white poster expl muck up in the catalogue.....no apology, no notice AT the actual item on the shelf to adv of this. Was sooo annoyed, no apology from the extraordinarily young 'supervisor' who refunded me then tried to give me the products even though technically it wasn't ritchie's fault, puhlease - i will NEVER return i don't care how cheap the sales are to get you in!

While you might think the larger supermarkets would have better prices, I'm surprised how often Ritchies is lower. Range isn't as good as the larger ones, but if you're wanting to get in and out quickly, it's a better alternative than Coles.

Added benefit is that you can get a Ritchies Community Benefit Card and a % of what you purchase will be donated to your nominated charity.

Really good service although a limited offering of supermarket goods. I do most of my shopping here and only go to Coles or Safeway when there are specific items I can't get at IGA. They keep magazines at the front entrance right in a difficult position to browse which is very silly and I've told them this many times. Their wheelchair friendly aisle (and therefore pram friendly) is unfortunately the express aisle, so I feel guilty every time I line up with more than 8 items, but I can't fit through the other registers. I choose to shop here and support my local business because they are good value, great service and very friendly. There are a few things they could fix up though such as the issues above.

OK these guys will never be as cheap as Coles over the road; but they always nice nice checkout girls, and good quality items. It's been renovated a couple of years ago, and the range is better than ever. Don't expect 17 brands of the one product though, they don't have room. But I shop there when I can, as Coles doesn't need me or my business!!
