I went to the Rose last night, after a long absence, and wondered why it took me so long to return! This place is simply brilliant. The prices of the food are superb, $15 for a parma. And, the parma has to be in the top 10% of those I have had at venues in Melbourne in terms of quality and size. The food is fresh and of high quality, feels like home cooking, and great value. The service is very welcoming. They treat you like a local, no fuss friendliness is the key. I'll be going back to settle in for a quiet Saturday arvo every now and then with a newspaper, I think!

Great food, friendly staff. A real pub - no pokies just a great bunch of regulars. Grand Final day at the Rose is an experience not to be missed - half time street footy is a hoot.

The Rose Hotel is a great place to get an excellent, cheap feed! The portions are sizable if not huge and the prices are so cheap. $13 for a steak that is just delicious with lots of chips and a lovely, simple salad. The dining room area is simple but quiet. A great hotel with lots of personality on the side roads of Fitzroy. A must for all!

Lovely friendly neighbourhood pub. Great pub food, plenty of variety and tasty wholesome meals. Amazing variety of beers etc. Social clubs. Fast service, very clean and great clientele

A great pub meal in the back streets of Fitzroy. Nothing fancy here, just good tucker and large serves for a bargain price. Try the roast, it's fresh and delicious. For extra ambience, seek out the obese cat..actually, he will probably be under your table hoping to catch a falling chip.

Rose staff make everything better! This is a Melbourne bar at its best. They always have great music on, I would quite like to steal there record collection and the bar snakes are also good. They have lost of beer (not a beer drinker) and a great wine list. Go to Rose!
