For a small town, there is a multitude of history just from this little shop. Ask to see the ancient oven, and they will tell you it's the one in the kitchen that's still in constant use.
It was late in the day when we arrived, so some of their goods were probably a bit tired waiting for a customer, but I could imagine how divine each item would have tasted fresh from the oven. Overall, definitely worth the stop in and not to be missed when travelling between Hobart and Launceston.
The town itself is also quite quaint and worth a bit of your time walking around and taking a good look.

By far my favourite Bakery in Australia. The quality and selection are excellent and the service is warm and friendly. Meals are delivered timely considering they are always busy when I have gone in there. The grounds are exquisite and it is always a favourite for tour busses from what I have seen. I love their pies and adore their pastries and can't really say enough good things about this place. A must if you are going through Tasmania.

A wonderful range of cakes, pastries and breads.... full of Olde Worlde Charm. Outside eating area, and also a bed and breakfast.
