Our ride over to Rottnest was bumpy and I ended up getting seasick. The staff were lovely and did everything they could to make me feel as comfortable as possible. The whole booking process was easy and the boat left on time. Not something many transport companies do lately.

They are well organised and professional but prices are steep and service is very not personal. A good and save way to get to Rottnest though.

I'd personally rather swim to rotnest or row a boat. it's expensive and passenger get processed like cattle !

Rottnest express is a cruise company which operates daily ferry services from Perth/Fremantle to Rottnest Island.
Rottnest ferry promotes ‘A leisurely 25 minute ferry ride from Fremantle' on their website. Although they were operating on time, it wasn't 'leisurely' at all. There was no possibility to sit outside on the deck, the view from the inside was short and the screen inside didn't work properly. That wouldn't have mattered to me, if it wasn't cold as hell (air condition) in the middle of summer.
But of course I have to give the company some credit: they are well organized and the booking service is great. When our travel plans had changed and we had to take another ferry back to Fremantle, it was no problem at all to change our existing booking. It was just one phone call for free at the local office at Rotto :)
So all up, you'll get great service and good value for your money there!

Approximate cost: $AUD 80

Good transport service to rottnest island. Left on time and arrived ok. Prices are expensive enough. airlines don't even charge for infants and they do! Savage to charge for someone who isn't going to have their own seat anyway!

bit overpriced considering all the patronage that they get being a monopolised ferry service for the tourists, return trip was rough as guts, the roof leaked. ???

Approximate cost: $69

I went to Rottnest with this company and it was a lot of fun, they left on time and came back on time. Their bikes were in ok condition. Staff in the morning weren't very helpful but I think they were just busy because they were still friendly enough

I must say, the price of whale watching when we went was half price and quite worth it at that. There are so many whales about and it was well worth the trip. Just under $40 each enabled us on a 2 hour sea trip with a very friendly skipper who was keen to answer questions along the way.

Well worth taking up the special. We shall be doing it again. Next week in fact.

Approximate cost: $40

I went on the Whale watching experience with this company. The boat is good, safe, stable. The guide is excellent. She knows a lot about whales, is able to recognize whales, calf, ... really quickly.
