I arrived a Saturday at 12:15 pm, they were still working and accepted to change my tyres. The price was excellent for the quality of the tyres (second-hand, but as new, Dunlop, $100 each).

I go there to get a good italian-style pizza : fine crust and tasty, or when I fel like having a good coffee. The pizzas choice is great, with very innovative pizzas. They even prepare real calzone ! It is pretty busy for dinner.
Approximate cost: $20
I go there to find french-type patisseries, croissants and brioches. I did not try everything yet but for now I have never been disappointed. I especially like the brioche as it is just impossible to find them anywhere else !
Very quiet guesthouse, situated on a "No Through road" and at the border of Claremont park. Well located, though a bit far from the beach (30 minutes walk + Westcoast hwy to cross) and from the buses lines (Stirling hwy). You must have a car to stay there. An good alternative for those who are sick of Freo and of the CBD.
Approximate cost: $90
This is the japanese shop in the food court. Sushis and sashimis are classics and not the bests. However, they prepare a teriyaki fish that is really good. All meals are very cheap, and you can choose a small or a large portion, which is very convenient.
Approximate cost: $7.5
A visit there is an adventure inside earth. There is a long steep way down to the entrance of the cave. The guide is very good and knowledgeable. At the shop you will find many informations about the underworld of caves. Very interesting.
Approximate cost: $29
Beautiful setting for this cafe. You can have lunch, tea coffee there. The choice is nice and the products are really good. Especially the jasmine green tea was delicious.
They make sushi rolls, have a great variety (fresh salmon, smokes salmon, tuna, spicy tuna, chicken, prawns, vegies,...), and it is very very cheap ! Especially in the evening (5-6 pm) all rolls are sold for 2 dollars.
I went twice at that place. the rooms are well-equiped, comfy and quiet. The breakfast is excellent. You can have dinner there too, but it has nothing exceptional. It is better to go to the city, which is not far. The CAT free bus stops just in front of the hotel, which is really convenient. And the very best is the swimming pool (outdoor), surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers as Kings Park is right above you !
Approximate cost: $100
When I first needed to open a bank account I did not have much money. I went to a first bank (I won't tell the name) and it was quite complicated, I had to wait for the agency manager to be available for an interview (3 days) and it would have cost me account fees. I decided to try another bank and went to that Westpac branch. I could immediately meet someone in charge with banking and I could open the bank account in less than 1/2 hour. The best was this it was free for me, that really helps when you just start working !
