The Adelaide show has a fantastic family atmosphere.
It is more commercial than it used to be, but some stalls still have that "old country" feel, which is what I love about it.
It can be a bit pricey, especially taking a bigger family, (if you avoid "side show alley" it may help cut the cots, but it is well worth it. They have a good range of stalls, animal shows, sample & show bags and the kids and adults both enjoyed it plus the food is always special at the shows.
A great family day out just make sure you save your pennies..lol
The RAA offer a member discount for tickets, which came in handy!
I took my girls to the show this year and both me and the girls enjoyed it. Unfortunately it is so commercialised now, but luckily there is still the areas that have the "country feel". One aspect I really am impressed with is the ease at which one can enter the different competitions - still love the baking and flower and scarecrow displays.
Just gone to the adelaide show with daughter 5 she justs loves the atmosphere and so do I have been here since i was little and use to go regular with the family. Its still great for the kids and even though everything expensive nice to try samples in the stalls, buy things and showbags for the little one and eat popcorn candy and fariefloss best bit is the fire works the kid and myself absolutely adore it. Luv it recommend for familys great atmosphere enjoyable day out
the Adelaide Royal Show is great for all ages and does not need to cost a large fortune - only a small one
Glad you enjoyed the show.. Unfortunately my kids are not into it anymore so we wont be going.
Thanks for comment
Went today with kids. Used RAA membership for discounted entry which was good as expensive to even get through the gate. Haven't been in years. Lucky my kids are young & not interested in rides as not cheap. Overall kids enjoyed it lots to see and do. Glad I checked out mag with all showbags & worked out what to get as would have been in the hall forever trying to decide! Oh and the pig racing & diving was very cute.
The Adelaide Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Show is a must "do" once a year (at least) There is an amazing array of items/objects to view. Horses competing, cattle judging, craft, flowers, show bags, free entertainment and side show alley (good to avoid if on a budget). Children can be entertained all day and into the evening with the fireworks etc. This can be a magic day with a little planning and budgeting. Enjoy!!!
