I've been to the show every year since birth. It's always a good day but nothing any other show couldn't provide. The past few years I've only been going for the nursery and exhibitions. The prices for rides are a joke so much so, I skip them. I'm not paying $15 -$20 for a ride that lasts 1 minute. That's $100 for 5 minutes of my day lol. The showbag hall is exceptional though. My favorite part, they also offer a lot of seasonal work for locals.

A great but tiring day out. Lucky for us here in the country you can catch a train but of course if you go on the train you can not stay for the fireworks display which is disappointing.
I think entry prices are a little expensive. They have some good "free" things to do while you are there but it really is an expensive day out

Too be fair, ths really is a great day out. Unfortunately the event organisers are taking everybody for a ride (and not the fun kind). They charge the stall holders and absolute fortune to be there and then they charge patrons a fortune to come inside the gates. Each stall holder then need sto charge a fortune to the patrons in order to recoup and make any kind of profit. Stall holder can get a bit desperate which wasn't something that happened in the past. Showbags are also littered with junk. It would be nice if they took iy upon themselves to promote some more natural or eco friendly showbags with wooden sustainable toys and other non-throw away junk. It would also be advisable to offer places where one can find quick access to water and more than a small number of rooms for babies to feed, change ect. My wife was luckily comfortable to breastfeed anywhere but changing bub was a nightmare and if we wanted to feed within the rooms, they were filthy and stinky. I could only imagine the discomfort of parents bottle feeding or women who don't find public breastfeeding comfortable. We ended up steering clear of the rides, despite them looking quite fun, due to there exceptional cost. We decided that if we were to really make a day of it, it would be cheaper to pay to fly to QLD and go to a theme park. We mflew to Qld the fllowing month. We stuck to the food tents and the free kids activities and had a great time. We came home with some luscious wines and great local produce and a bucket load of showbags with gorgeous organic sauces andteas, food, snacks. We had a great day but are always dissappointed wit the money grab.
