The Sacred Heart Cathedral should be on anyone's must see list when visiting Bendigo

Its beautiful Gothic architecture, paintings, statues and stain glass windows are a must see, also the grounds surrounding the Cathedral.

There is no fee to visit but I don't see any reason why people can't leave an offering if they wish. There are time's of worship here and we all need to be respectful of those when visiting.

This is a fine, beautiful old cathedral church which is a must see place if you are visiting Bendigo.

For me I have visited this church for spiritual reasons (I am a Catholic by faith). It was a lovely experience to walk around inside the church and spend some time time.

Even if you go to this church for non-religious reasons, you are most welcome to go in and appreciate the English Gothic architecture and admire this building, its paintings, statues and stain glass windows.

These grand styles of churches as this one, remind me of the majestic cathedrals in Europe.

However, I would offer some advice, please be courteous if you are visiting the church during mass times when looking around inside.

There is no charge for entry, but I am sure the church would appreciate a small donation though.

The Sacred Heart Cathedral in Bendigo is a huge historic looking church with a real medieval feel of large steeples, fancy brickwork, sculptures, carvings and stained glass windows. It is primarily a place of worship but also a great place to take visitors as a tourist activity especially if you like heritage buildings and elaborate architecture.

Entry is free and they sometimes offer free tours of the church and grounds.
