This is very authentic food with far higher quality vegetarian than you will get elsewhere. It is a modest little place but the food is really excellent. Everything tastes fresh and made from scratch, using their own spice blends. A favourite of ours.
This was tucked away just 5mins from the city and was surprised how quiet it was (guess the foot traffic doesn't go pass). The decor needs abit of updating however the owner served the table and was extremely friendly. He assisted in choosing a good wine and every meal we had was consistently delicious! The prices were very reasonable and overall experience was very good value for money. Would recommend this restaurant that apparently has been open for 14 years!
Approximate cost: $20
I found this restaurant to be ok, service was a bit slow and our rotis were cold and hard/tough. Was a bit disappointed overall.
If you are looking for authentic Nepalese restaurant, this is one of the bests. The quality foods, customer service and reasonable prices are the good features of this restaurant.
Approximate cost: $33
Nice restaurant, but I prefer The Himalayan Kitchen.
We went to Sagamartha for an early mothers day dinner. The restaurant has a nice homely feel and the food is good. The service left a little to be desired. The service was slow and the waitress didnt really help much. There was also no changetable which made changing my baby's nappy quite difficult. You can use your Ambassadors card here to get one meal free wich makes it more cost effective and we all received 12 dollar vouchers for our next visit. All in all a pleasant evening.
this place is located near my house, shall go there one of these days
Went to dinner last night with my sister on a discounted website offer. We were a little worried when we turned up as the restaurant looks like nothing from outside and has very dated decor inside. However the food was amazing - we had two curries (goat and chicken) and they were so tender and tasty. The service was good. Will definitely be back.
I went to this place to try it because they were participating in the "split the menu" offer (half price meals). Was disappointed that they wouldn't accept the voucher because we hadn't ordered a main meal (we ordered a tasting platter which was listed under the main meal). Given we had to say we had the voucher when we made the booking, I would have thought they would have said something when we ordered... but nevermind.
Food was good. Very much like indian food with the exception of some banana fritter/donut type things they had. They were interesting though very oily.
I went with just one friend - we both enjoyed it but wouldn't be in a hurry to go back. It's a good place to try something different though.
Approximate cost: $20
Fantastic restaurant, choose from authentic Nepali dishes and other polular South Asian meals including curries, Tandoori dishes and Naan breads from the Sagarmatha charcoal clay oven. They also have vegetarian meals.
Fantastic service, really look after returning customers. Have been here so many times. Food is great, good range of dishes on menu. Good wine list, reasonable prices for drinks - unlike a lot of other establishments. Entertainment Friday and Saturday nights.
