Sake is one of Sydney's best contemporary Japanese restaurants in my opinion. I have been here twice and tried many of the dishes on the menu.

I dined here last Friday and some of the dishes were excellent, others were good although not amazing. Please note that this is entirely a matter of personal preference however, and not any fault of the restaurant.

The stand out dishes for me was the miso caramelised toothfish, the tuna ceviche and the dragon egg dessert. I have had many miso caramelised fish dishes at several modern Japanese eateries and this is definitely one of the best. So very rich in flavour, with perfectly cooked fish and balance of flavours.

My favourite part of Sake however is the desserts! I have had the white chocolate and rhubarb dessert before, which was incredible from memory. However, this time we were too full and got one dragon egg to share. The presentation is beautiful and theatric with dry ice being poured over before it is cracked open. I absolutely love the balance of rich chocolate with the tart, smooth passionfruit sorbet!
