My son has been seeing Sally Ann for the past few months. She has been a saviour for us teaching him sign language and her beautiful dogs have been so calming for him. Before Sally Ann, he was very scared of dogs, but now he loves being around them. I highly recommend Sally Ann.

Sally-Ann is a knowledgeable therapist but she works from home and, as at 2010, had two large dogs that she allowed unrestrained in the company of young children. My 3yo was terrified and refused to return.

Five months ago our son aged 3 began seeing Sally-Ann for lessons in relation to his ASD diagnosis. In that time we have come to view Sally-Ann as our saviour. She is an enormously generous person with her time, knowledge and spirit. Her understanding of children's individuality and also that of their parents is of significant benefit for their progress and willingness to participate and learn.

When we noticed that our second child was displaying characteristics of ASD and had speech delay, Sally-Ann was the first person we approached. Now she sees both our children weekly and we could not be happier with her management of their needs.

Our children are progressing with every lesson and we count our blessings that we found Sally-Ann. Her knowledge, belief and systems relating to early intervention are of vital importance and we truly belive that Sally-Ann is changing not only our children's futures but our own.

Our daughter was diagnosed with autism and has communication issues at the age of 3. When she started seeing Sally-Ann she was non verbal. She was so frustrated as she could not communicate with us. Now, 7 months later she is like a different child. She is so happy now she is able to communicate not only with us but others as well. She responds extremely well to visuals & is also learning sign language. These are all methods of communication she has learned with Sally-Ann. She is able to go to Kindy and actively participate with the other children and will be going to a mainstream school next year. Sally-Ann's level of commitment to helping and teaching her has been outstanding. We are so very grateful for all the guidance and support Sally-Ann has given and continues to give our family.

My 5 year old son was recently diagnosed with ASD. I quickly learnt that I was going to need the right person to help me decide what I needed to do and who were the right people for the job. We gained access to funding and with that comes responsibility. After much frustration I reached out to Sally-Ann who was like a guardian angel. Out of her own time she called me, just to see how I was. She helped me with any problems that I vented to her and for the first time I felt I had someone on my side, wanting the best for my child, at no gain to her. With Sally-Ann's help I am now in a great place where I know exactly what I need to do and everything has now started to roll along. It's a hard enough road to travel, to try and work out who does what, how this process works ect, but with Sally-Ann's help and guidance, I feel like I am in control and well on the way to receiving the great help needed for my son. So to anyone out there that is experiencing the same doubt of what do I do now, I can do nothing but recommend this wonderful caring woman to you with 100% confidence. She was wonderful with my son and will be forever thankful to her.

3 years ago, our son (who was about 18 months at that time) had all of a sudden developed some behavioural issues. We couldn't understand why he was acting like that so we started visiting various doctors, psychologist. The only name that most of them suggested was Sally Ann Gordon. It took a while to get an appointment from her as she was very busy. But once she reviewed and agreed to give lessons to our son, there was no looking back. Her way of giving lessons is amazing, the professional environment yet homely along with tailor made lessons worked perfectly for our son, who had no words when we started visiting her and today he is a CHATTER BOX. Her passion towards her work is significant and clearly visible, that even after being in this profession for more than 35 years she is still providing the same consistent support, professional help and guidance to the needy people like us who have been facing hard time raising our son who was once diagnosed with autism.

She is confident about her work that after every lesson she would ask us to go home and watch the very 1st lesson's DVD and see the difference and it is there.

Her tips also works perfectly for our 16 months old daughter. Today our friends seek points to help raise there children on different levels that we learn't from her.

There are no words that could express our feelings to Thank her. She is one speech therapist who today made us speechless. We are content and proud parents today.

When we first took our son (who was then approx 3 years old) to see Sally-Ann he was almost completely non-verbal, and had fairly significant behavioural issues. With her guidance and persistence, after 18 months we had a much calmer little boy who had learned more words than we could keep count of, and more importantly, Sally-Ann had armed us with the knowledge of how to keep improving his speech. He is now 5 years old, and only yesterday he pointed up to a boy climbing to the very top of a climbing frame, and said to me “no, stop, that's dangerous!”
Sally-Ann's is certainly no shrinking violet, and some may not agree with her methods, but consistency and firmness was just what our son needed.
Another thing that for me makes Sally-Ann stand out from the crowd is her willingness to go above and beyond what should be expected from a speech pathologist. At no additional charge, she invited the parents of her clients to an evening get-together at her home, which included a representative from DECD as a guest speaker, to give us information on education options for our children.
A woman who is so passionate and dedicated to her profession certainly deserves 5 stars from us. Keep up the good work, Sally!

My autistic son was a rebel, he fought everyone on everything. It destroyed me to see him locked away in his bubble, unable to connect with people. I searched high and low for answers, taking my son to many different therapists and specialists. The first specialist I consulted advised me to put my son in a special school. I was desperately looking for answers, then I discovered Sally-Ann Gordon.
In the past, any positive changes within my son would take 4-6 months - Sally-Ann was able to effect change within the very first session!! I was shocked. So I committed to doing exactly as Sally-Ann taught, even when I didn't agree. Sally-Ann was always right. My mother wasn't on board and wouldn't follow Sally-Ann's rules. A visit to Grandma would undo so much of our good work, typically taking a week to restore after leaving Grandma's house. I quickly learnt that everyone in my child's world must be on the same page.
Peace reigns again in our home. Now at age seven, my son is a social butterfly, is calm, happy, empathetic, easy going, well mannered, copes well with change, and amazingly -is consistantly topping his class and receiving near perfect school reports at his mainstream school. People are shocked when they discover he has this diagnosis as he appears normal-whatever that is. All it took was Sally-Ann's knowledge and 2 years of my discipline and hard work for my child to now have a real future. Not too shabby for a boy that a former specialist wanted placed in a special school.
Sally-Ann had the answers to all my questions, she always returned my calls. Sally-Ann appeared really invested in her students clearly going above and beyond. If the next booking was late she would continue working with my son. I travelled six hours round trip to see Sally-Ann, she was definately worth the time and every cent.
Sometimes in order to get results her exterior was tough, but her heart is surely made of gold. I am thankful everyday for having found her when I look at my son, so happy and confident. Knowing Sally-Ann has been a truly life-changing and illuminating experience.
If you want results and you are prepared to do the work, go straight to the best - Sally-Ann Gordon.

I would still contact Sally-Ann even if interstate - she may well know a great colleague in your area and her recommendation will be priceless to you and your child. She could advise you how to proceed with your child.

Hi Sophie,

There is funding available dependant on income, call Sally-Ann and she can tell you. If you don't qualify for funding, find the money- it was the best investment I've ever made
