I engaged Sandscan to sand, stain and polish our Baltic Pine Floorboards in our Victorian period home. I found Peter a pleasure to deal with, providing a competitive quote and offering suggestions on what would work best for our floor.
Whilst removing the old carpet from the bedrooms we found 2 large sections where the floorboards were cut to install the ducted heater from the previous owner and the cut out was replaced with MDF boards. I immediately called Peter to let him know and once again Peter exceeded my expectations by scheduling the repair work to commence early to allow for the repairs to the floors be made and the job to be completed as per the time frame discussed for a reasonable price. This worked really well especially as we were renovating the kitchen at the same time.
Peter and his team stained the floorboards in Black Japan and finished them in a matt finish polish. We were left with a quality finish and the floors look amazing. Peter and his team were pleasant, turned up on time, did a excellent job and left the home in a clean, neat and tidy condition.
I would gladly recommend Sandscan to others.

We recently used Sandscan to sand and polish our floors after we ripped up the carpet. They did a very bad job at the preparation and left sections that were not filled in properly. The sanding was not done consistently as you could feel the ridges between the floorboards, they did not sand all the way to the skirting and they didn't sand off addional putty that they dropped on the floor.
As the floors had previously been polished in sections by the old property owner it meant our floors were different shades. When i complained about the different shades of colour of the floorboards one of the workers just told me to cover that section up with a rug or furniture.
After the job was completed I complained to the boss who said that there wasn't much they could do about it. He offered to redo some sections but strongly advised about resanding as he said it would weaken the boards.
We have since hired a different company (at an added expense) to redo the whole house. They stained the boards before they polished them and we now have a floor which looks all the same colour and has been sanded smooth. I don't know why Sandscan didn't suggest they stain the floor to start with!

Approximate cost: $3000
