Finally, I dined in this restaurant for my 3rd visit to Daylesford and all I could say: Amazing food (I had the pan roasted duck breast for main - it was excellent) , beautiful views & great surrounding and great service. Love it! recommended, especially for those who want to celebrate their anniversary, engagement etc.

Beautiful restaurant in a relaxed location!
Truly a treat for us to have dined at this restaurant.

The meals were delicious and were very pleased.

The wait staff were polite and attentive to our requests and were able to answer our queries in relation to the menu.

The prices are little expensive, hence why I would suggest you visit this place for a special occassion, its well worth it.

Everything about Sault restaurant was amazing.

The ambience was warm. Throughout dinner we looked out at kangaroos grazing on the grounds.

The service throughout our dining experience was friendly and attentive.

Prior to our starters arriving, we were served a small tasting dish made up of smoked salmon and cremè fresh. It was unexpected and delicious.

For starters we had the prosciutto wrapped scallops. The presentation was amazing and the flavours were to die for.

For main I had the eye fillet with potatoes, roasted capsicum, onions and cherry tomatoes with red wine jus. My wife had the free range suckling pig. We shared a beetroot, goats curd, lambs lettuce and caramalised walnut salad. Everything was truly delicious and portions were generous.

For dessert we had the lemon cheesecake, the chocolate gateau with earl grey mousse and a third, a warmed pear tart. All three desserts were decadent and delicious.

Our lattes were spot on and finished our Sault experience perfectly.

Would not hesitate to recommend and look forward to coming back.

really over-rated place. I would probably give this place 4-5 stars if it led me to believe they were a country club or cafe. But they make themselves out to be a fine dining experience amongst gardens.
Unfortunately the food was very simple and lacking flavour. Presentation was lovelythough. The room was very large and spacious, but so much so that it looked more like a food hall than an intimate candelit dinnner place.
The waitors were almost too polite but lacking any personality, and their knowledge was not so good. The 'somalier' took 4 goes to get our wine right. I appreciated the effort, but there's a lot of room for improvement.
Also, the place is on the main road, so even though there are gardens somewhere on the property, they are completely invisible at night.
If you have no where else to go and no budget - then perhaps this place is not too bad. But I certainly wouldn't recommend it. Nothing stood out.

Approximate cost: $35
