I tend to judge India restaurants by the quality of their vegetarian options and especially their selection of dhals. With only one dhal on then menu (no indian meal is complete without a dhal on the table) I have to say I am not too impressed.
The tandoori chicken was excellent (I am not a vegetarian, just love Indian vegetable dishes) while the lamb curry that we ordered as a little boring.
I can't pronounce the name of this restaurant, but it is a good place to go in suburban Kenmore for some pretty unique renditions of Indian dishes that so often are run-of-the-mill. The place is old school - carpets are original, but that adds some charm. We had a lamb saag, which although was not on the menu was a good effort. The butter chicken was smashed by the children, always a good sign. Will go back here - it's this sort of place that will go under if people judge books by their covers.
Approximate cost: $17
This fantastic Indian Food! We have a friend who visits from Mackay from time to time and all she can think of on the trip down to see us is having this Indian again - it really is that good! They have a great range and you can dine in or take away. It is open Tuesday - Sunday.
Approximate cost: $16.00
