Beautiful setting, great food and great service. Plan on sampling some of the wine along the back wall there one day.

We called in for a light lunch at Seasons Restaurant and were very happy with the food, coffee and service. Chose the Ploughman's platter to share and there was a good selection of bread, cheese, pork terrine, pickled onion, salad (with rocket, yum!) and corned beef. A bit light on the bread to have it all with but I guess we could have asked for an extra slice or two. Service was excellent - friendly and efficient waiting person, coffee delivered in a few minutes and our lunch soon after. All good. Liked the look of what was being delivered on the other tables too so will be back!

A long weekend and a birthday lunch - a great time to try out a new restaurant! Four of us headed up to Olinda to Seasons Restaurant on the recommendation of the birthday person's sister. Easy to find and with plenty of parking the restaurant is attached to a nursery well worth a visit too. The lunch menu had lots of variety (including 4 gluten free options) and was reasonably priced. It ranged from soup of the day (ham hocks & barley) @ $10.50 to Slow-roasted Pork Belly @$30. The latter dish was one of our choices - and with the savoury cabbage, roast potatoes and a spicy apple sauce was declared to be delicious! Fish of the day - flathead tails with a potato rosti, garden salad and lime aioli was selected by two - one with the gluten free option, the other with a light breadcrumb coating. Again - a tasty and substantial repast. I chose the Hot Pot Pie which was beef & mushrooms - with potato and carrots as well. The pie was lovely. It came in a decent sized pie dish and had lots of filling and yummy gravy. The meat was very tender as were the veg. Of course I looked for chips or wedges (hey, it was a pie!) but the accompanying salad was fine.
The wine menu had a good selection including wines from Mornington, Yarra Ranges and NZ. Several beers and ciders were also available.
Our mains were very filling so we declined dessert and finished with coffee.
Our only complaint was that we were sitting at a table squished in near the cash register, the coffee machine and a short distance from the front door - which when opened provided a gentle breeze of chilly mountain air. I was jostled a couple of times by people paying bills and when the coffee grinder was going it was a bit hard to hear the conversation. Next time we'll ask for a seat near the window - there is a good view and would be a bit quieter.
All in all though we had a good time and will certainly consider a return visit.

Approximate cost: $28.00
