My old (1999) car had two faulty alarm remotes and one door that would lock when the alarm was activated. My mechanic recommended Andrew the owner of Acorn Car Alarms. Fantastic service - came on time to my house with a phone call 30 minutes before, completed the job speedily and efficiently and best of all it was much less expensive than I thought it would be. The alarm remotes and door locking has worked perfectly since then. Highly recommended.

This is a great little bakery in downtown Kilsyth. Often get their pies which are a decent size with chunks of meat and very tasty. The bread and rolls are good and there is plenty of variety to choose from. We've also bought selections of their mini cakes and pastries which are yum for various events - the most recent being for a friends wedding. All fresh and delicious!

This cafe was recommended by a friend so on a sunny Sunday arvo we included it in a walk along the Yarra river. The food was great. We shared two platters - falafel and another with cheese, olives etc. Both generous serves - we could probably have just ordered one and been happy! The falafel were excellent - almost as good as I've had in the Middle East. Coffee was reasonable. The downside was that the service was slow as and our waiting time was over half an hour - not that we had an appointment to go to! - but it is annoying especially when you see people who come after you get served quicker. However I'd still go back for more falafel!

Looking for plants and pots on a Sunday arvo so called into the cafe at Kuranga Nursery for some lunch. We sat outside and it was very pleasant. There were a few wasps about but they didn't linger long. We shared two dishes - a potato rosti and a frittata. Both very tasty and plenty on the plate. Coffee wasn't too bad. The service was ok - a little slow but it was quite busy. We could look out over the nursery and a bush area so that was quite relaxing!

We called in for a light lunch at Seasons Restaurant and were very happy with the food, coffee and service. Chose the Ploughman's platter to share and there was a good selection of bread, cheese, pork terrine, pickled onion, salad (with rocket, yum!) and corned beef. A bit light on the bread to have it all with but I guess we could have asked for an extra slice or two. Service was excellent - friendly and efficient waiting person, coffee delivered in a few minutes and our lunch soon after. All good. Liked the look of what was being delivered on the other tables too so will be back!

Four of us went to Tien Dat on a Friday night. We had booked the early 5:30 pm sitting. We like to share so we get a range of food but one person is gluten free and another doesn't like spicy food. However apart from the pancake which the GF person couldn't eat we managed to find middle ground and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Spring rolls were tasty with lovely crisp lettuce and mint; pancake very yum but not enough of it! Curry wasn't too hot for the non-spicy person and ok and the stir fry was great. Everything was fresh and the servings were quite generous. I decided that next time though I'd like to just go through the entrees - they looked very interesting!

This review is for Mallet Plumbing, Box Hill VIC

verified email - 07 Dec 2014

We had our old instant hot water service replaced with a storage one. This required some extra pipes and a small concrete slab as well as clearing a space for the storage unit. Mallet plumbing was recommended to us by a friend who had Paul do some work in her bathroom replacing a basin etc. Paul's quote came in under 2 others (even one that was a cash job(!) - and he was also the most efficient in replying with the quote by email. He even came back with a second quote when he was able to obtain the HWS for a slightly lower price. He phoned about 30 minutes before he arrived, arrived on time, left everything tidy and took the old unit away as well. Great job, reasonable price, efficient and reliable plumber - highly recommend this business.

I was looking for a new cabin suitcase on wheels for a gift for a friend and happened by Victoria Station while mooching through Knox Shopping Centre. I received exceptional help from the retail assistant, Julia, who was extremely informative about the different types of cabin luggage available. She pointed out the difference between what could be used on domestic and international flights and demonstrated a range of suitable products. Sometimes when you go into these shops there are so many items that it is difficult to make a choice. However with a helpful retail assistant who can ascertain quickly what you are looking for within your budget then it is a pleasant experience. I was able to quickly find a suitable gift and left the shop a happy person! The bag was quite light too so it was no hassle to keep on mooching and checking out other things - bonus! Thanks, Julia ... Great work!

It was 1:30pm, a long time since breakfast and the hungries had hit. We'd received a flyer about this new cafe in our letterbox and a friend who'd been there for coffee said it was pretty good. So we gave it a go. Glad we did - excellent meal! My friend had a Spanish omelette - very tasty and plenty of it - and I had the big boy breakfast with 2 eggs, mushrooms (not usually a fan but these had flavour!) chorizo, bacon, tomato, spinach, a hash brown and sour dough toast. And some tasty relish. It was all delicious! Compliments to the chef! Presentation was good too and service terrific - friendly staff and minimal wait. We'll be back. :)

This review is for Skinny Dog Hotel, Kew VIC

A group of us went to Skinny Dog on a week night for dinner. Excellent choice! Great parmas - either a half or full was available and the half was plenty big enough with chips and salad as well. Pizzas were very tasty with lots of topping. Another favourite was the calamari - a mountain of it! All our mains were less than $20 (except for the full parma $27), drinks were reasonably priced and the service was great - friendlyand helpful staff. Will certainly go there again!
