My partner and I stayed in a WhiteSands Apartment for two nights. The rooms were really spacious with a balcony and spa.

The best part of the hotel was the Aqua Spa which had a pure salt spa, mineral spa and spring spa. The beach is right across the road too!

We stayed here a few years ago, with the kids.
Great hotel with loads of variety and things to do.
The rooms are really clean and spacious.
Such a short drive from Sydney which is great, kids don't get too bored in the car.

Great outdoor pool and indoor pool with spas. The resort has a few Restaurants, good variety, great service.

We had underground parking for the car which was safe and easy to access from the resort.

We didn't take up kids club as the girls were still quite young, though if we return we will definitely investigate it.

A great place to stay and unwind.

A beautiful place to stay right on shoal bay beach. The resort has a pool and kids wading area. I was able to be treated in the Aqua Spa and mineral spa pool. Trained beauticians gave me an amazing massage and facial treatment offering green tea and relaxation music while i had a short wait. There were four restaurants on offer with something different on offer at each. We were able to use the free underground secure car parking and also used the free shuttle bus to visit a local club. Everything is a little above average for pricing but u are paying for what u get. this is no cheap motel room. The room were immaculate and stunning, with beautiful views. In my books this is a 5 star place to stay and is a beautiful way to be pampered. A place i will always remember!

This hotel is one m favourites it is amazing they have different rooms for different prices they have four different kinds of eating areas for children adults buffets just a quick snack cafes they have room service as well it is a very clean hotel they have alot of things to do for kids and adukts eg poker kids club

Our welcome was happy and welcoming and the room was clean and as expected. The lounge furniture was a little worn but comfortable. Little things could be fixed, like there was a broken blind in the lounge that was very hard to pull up, a shelf in the 2nd room was broken and one in the main room was being held up by match sticks, BUT, the kitchen was well equiped and they came in and made the beds, restocked coffee and bathroom supplies each day. Unfortunately we had terrible weather so really were unable to enjoy the heated pool. But they have kids club and when we wanted some glue to use in our rooms, they happily gave it to us. The staff were very friendly and helpful all the time and made children feel special. We only stayed 2 nights but really have no complaints. My only complaint was that you had to pay up the full price when you booked. They have a great range of cafe's and bars very close by, in fact it looks like its part of the resort and they were very friendly, great with the kids and the service was excellent there as well. The verandah setup was stupid, like it was not quite wide enough to fit the table they gave us???, but as it was rainy weather it didnt really matter for this trip. I could see that other verandah's were much better.

This place is a little on the pricey side which is it's downside, but it is a great place to hide away, relax and rejuvinate. I love going here with hubby to just remember who we are without kids. There is kids free areas if you want to just be an adult or bring the kids and play at the beach and pool. The food is always really nice here too.

Stayed here a few weeks ago (August 2012) with hubby and our two kids. Got a great deal on Wotif.com (although it wouldn't have been a bit out of our price range otherwise). Great location right on the beautiful beach of Shoal Bay - looks to be great swimming beaches for little ones (although it was too cold to try at this time of the year.

The 1 bedroom apartment was spacious with a full kitchen (complete with dishwasher and oven), separate bedroom and fold out couch for the little ones. Everything was clean and well appointed. Side on view from the balcony of the beach. Toiletries and tea and coffee rations included.

The pool was popular with our four year old (although too cold for me, would be great to have an outdoor spa here). But the real bonus was the onsite Adult Only spa. At first we were disappointed that we couldn't take the kids inside to the indoor lap pool, but it turned into a great retreat time for both myself and hubby (individually) for some time away from the kids. Can highly recommend.

My partner and i stayed here for a weekend and i loved it one min walk across the rd to the water and the thalassotherapy spa was so nice and relaxing. Having buffet breakfast in the morning looking out to Tomaree headlands was lovely . Would love to go and atay here again.

My friends and I stayed at Shoal Bay for 5 nights and were pleasantly surprised with the nicely furnished, spacious rooms here. Most importantly, they were clean. The staff were professional and happy to help with any requests. We ate breakfast downstairs and thought it was pretty average, nothing too extravagant. Its location is what makes it so special. Just across the road from the beach, we were able to go for late night swims, and enjoy the early morning fresh air. At night you can hear the waves crashing as you fall asleep - its so relaxing! We enjoyed lunch at a local fish and chip shop called Aussie Bobs (which I'd highly recommend). I'd go back any day.
