Went to the Clare Valley over the long weekend as my husband managed to get a couple of extra days off. This restaurant/winery was on the top of our list to visit, as our friends had a lot of nice things to say about it. Well, we were not disappointed, it is such a lovely place, great views with excellent food and wine. We had the ploughmans lunch with some fabulous wine sitting outside under the olive tree overlooking the beautiful garden and vines. It was so pleasant and relaxing, except it was quite busy. We were lucky enough to get a table, I would advise that you book the weekends. Very friendly welcoming staff is what you will find here with quality food and wine. Will be returning on our next trip for sure.

Hubby took me to Skillogalee Restaurant for lunch for a special occasion. The restaurant itself is in a lovely old building, full of character, great views over the vineyard and a welcoming log fire for those cooler days. The staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. I ordered the confit duck (approx. $33) and it was one of the best duck meals I've ever had. Wonderfully tender and moist and it was a wonderful accompaniment for the Basket Pressed Shiraz. I'd definitely go back to try some of the other delicious sounding choices on the menu and I'd certainly recommend it to family and friends. The only downside is that it's a 2.5 hour drive from where I live otherwise I'd visit the restaurant much more often.

Wow, we went there for a wine tasting and the smell of the food was so inviting we stayed for lunch. A most beautiful garden to look at out of our window, kids playing on the lawns, people eating on the verandah, all this and a sensational meal

Skillogalee is one of my favorite Clare Valley wineries, and is a must stop location whenever I make my annual pilgrimage up north. Their Chardonnays are often the highlights for me (Rieslings often being too sweet), and I often have a glass or two when stopping there for a meal (although I don't like to drink too much as we often eat there when on a wine tasting spree). Their menu is very limited and changes often, and it's rare to find a vegetarian option so I usually opt with one or more sides, but the experience is always fantastic (maybe it's the wine talking, but I love it!).

We stopped for lunch at this restaurant/winery on a weekend visit to the Clare Valley and were impressed with the food and setting. Built in an old house they use the rooms and outdoor verandah for their customers setting. The food and wine were exceptional.
